The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This position is for a role within the FEAD (Front End Ancillary Drive) and Sensors & Actuators Team which is part of the Base Engine Department within Powertrain.
The Team has complete responsibility for the design and development of all FEAD components and Powertrain related `On Engine & `Off Engines Sensors, Actuators and Modules and associated mounting brackety from concept design through to volume production.
With an increasing emphasis on virtual development techniques the department utilises advanced CAD and CAE to support the product development process.
A role within the FEAD and Sensors & Actuators Team involves working with a wide range of electromechanical and mechanical components, challenging functional and cost targets and significant liaison with all internal areas of our business as well as external component and system suppliers.
This small team is based in Building 17 at Whitely, but provides engineering expertise across all Product Development and Production sites.

Responsible for the delivery of a variety of `On Engine & `Off Engines Sensors, Actuators and Modules and associated mounting bracketry.
Responsible for the Electrical / Electromechanical functionality of the Sensors, Actuators and Modules including CAE and durability testing. Liaise with Base Engine and Program teams to agree system targets (quality, function, cost, weight) and define system content.
Work with Purchase, Suppliers and CAD team to manage delivery of the `On Engine & `Off Engines¿ Sensors, Actuators and Modules on time, to agreed targets are within budget (Piece, Tooling and D&D).
Lead the quality planning activities including component FMEA and Design Rules and Standards.
Ensure compliance with all PCS and APQP requirements.
Manage the resolution of technical issues through the AIMs system. Support System Strategy and project target conflicts to resolution.
Lead the Validation Plan and ensure it meets appropriate programme gateways and monitor progress against the plan. Develop and manage Component Timing Plans to ensure programme milestones are met. Support for the various builds throughout the delivery of the programme. Lead the release activities required to support component maturation up to inc PACN approval. Work with Advance Product Creation team, Vehicle Packaging and Technical Specialist to develop feasible design assumptions for future `On Engine¿ & `Off Engines¿ Sensors, Actuators and Modules.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
An understanding of Powertrain systems, components, practices and the processes involved with system design/development
WERS, eFDVS, AIMS, RMDV, APQP, Cost Management inc VFM
Experience and working knowledge of FMA processes
Current Driving Licence

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of virtual series activities / requirements and reporting out activities
