The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Working within the Suspension Systems Tuning Group, the Component Engineer - is responsible for the delivery of components including; Damper, Spring & Stabiliser Bar Systems, within the SST department. Engineer is responsible for achieving performance targets to facilitate meeting dynamic and durability requirements. Close interaction is required across suspension teams, other chassis functions and suppliers in order to achieve this.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with Subject Matter Expert to improve, FMEA's, Engineering Standards & Design Rules.
- Support new technology investigations and raise appropriate documentation to support.
- Ensure components meet or exceed performance targets.
- Ensure components adhere to departmental standards.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of component design to deliver performance attributes (durability, stiffness, weight, cost)
Proven ability to deliver against a fixed timeframe.
Supplier management and control
Use and knowledge of standard JLR or global quality tools.
Able to work with minimal supervision, work with a team and consistently deliver on time.
Ability to deal with change as the product develops.
Able to work with all areas of the business and take the lead when required, to broker agreements and deliver results.
Experience/understanding of Suspension Systems Tuning components.
Experience/understanding of Vehicle Dynamics, development & sign off.
Experience/knowledge of vehicle and component rig testing.
Degree Educated or proven experience in this area

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Graduates could be considered for this role, with a salary that would reflect the level of experience.
Knowledge of JLR engineering standards and processes. (PCDS, AIMS ,RMDV, WERS etc.) Black Belt/ Green Belt Training
