The Company:
Our client is a Multinational Chemical company which will construct, own and operate a world-scale integrated chemicals complex in Saudi Arabia. Once completed, the complex will represent the largest petrochemical facility ever built in a single phase. Our client will establish a world-scale manufacturing footprint that delivers a full range of value-added, performance products destined for the emerging markets of Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.

The Role:
Maintain and support the as-built facility information and engineering analysis and design applications to ensure accurate and consistent access to the facility information as well the best implementations of the applications to produce high quality process studies, engineering studies and FEED packages.

1. Responsible for the administration, maintenance and support of engineering applications including 2D design tools, visualization of 3D facility models, process modelling and simulation, document management for engineering information, and specialist engineering calculation and modelling tools.
2. Configure tools and applications to support the business needs.
3. Control configurations, analyse system performance, and recommend improvements to ensure systems meet current and future business requirements.
4. Work with project engineering and external EPCs to ensure proper handover of all project deliverables during mechanical completion of projects.
5. Escalate unresolved application issues to the appropriate solutions provider for proper resolution.
6. Work with users and utilizes software and systems troubleshooting techniques to provide second line of support to identify the root cause of problems in applications and resolve them for proper operation.
7. Work with IT representatives to improve engineering applications performance as required and to assure continued application compatibility with underlying Corporate software and hardware infrastructure.
8. Recommend and implement modifications to the engineering tools and/or tool-level usage work processes to reduce user problems and improve quality and efficiency,
and to prevent downtime and degraded throughput. Perform and coordinate user application testing and certification as part of the User Acceptance Testing phase of software change management.
9. Manage the suite of engineering tools as a portfolio with value propositions, lifecycle strategies, integration plans and replacement strategies as systems mature and are replaced.
10. Maintain document, data and deliverable format standards in cooperation with Discipline SME’s, and assures these standards are incorporated in ITB’s for internal and external engineering work. Participates in quality reviews of internal and external project deliverables.
11. Assure implementation of appropriate data and document management practices to assure that integrated data remains refreshed and accurate, to the extent required by Engineering, Operations and Maintenance in any integrated and/or tag-linked systems.
12. Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• B.S. Engineering, B.S. Computer Engineering, B.S. Computer Science.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• 15 years of relevant experience in CAE role supporting multiple discipline project teams at a manufacturing site or corporate project engineering office.
• Smart Plant / Intergraph application experience
• Strong analytical abilities to analyze data and situations, and implement corrective actions.
• Knowledge of Chemical industry, chemical plant operations and Project Engineering work processes.
• Strong knowledge of the tools and work processes used by Instruments, Electrical, Structural, Mechanical and Process Engineering disciplines in technical support roles.
• Strong knowledge of the tools and work processes used by Instruments, Electrical, Structural, Mechanical and Process Engineering disciplines in capital project team roles.
