The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
Support planning of Pre Gate 2 projects and facilitate application of proven, structured project management approaches to the diverse project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise and support Producing Units in planning and execution of Operated Projects.
• Promote consistent use of Project Management Systems on projects, including application of project learnings and Best Practices, and facilitate knowledge transfer to project teams.
• Coach and support development of project management staff on selected project teams; mentor less experienced staff in the course of providing guidance on project management.
• Participates in Peer Reviews, workshops, etc.
• Train and mentor team members (staff contractors and employees).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education Level: BS degree
Degree Major: Engineering
Fluent in English

15+ years Oil and Gas Industry experience, which should include:
15+ years in Project management, engineering, construction and/or operations
10+ years in Project Development Planning and/or Early Execution Planning
10+ years Production/Development Company project management experience.
Expert in Project Management Execution Planning skill area, or Development Planning Opportunity Management or Concept Selection skill area

• Good leadership skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Able to integrate expertise, industry knowledge, and business experience to support Upstream business
• Visible, connected, respected, and influential within the local Project Management community
• Able to constructively engage and influence the project management teams
• Able to drive improvements in work processes, technology, and organization
• Commercially, operationally, interpersonally, and culturally astute
• Recognized mentor for career and skill development for Project Management professionals
