The Company:
Our client is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

They are now looking to appoint a Vehicle Configuration Manager to manage a small team who will be responsible for ensuring that a fit for purpose vehicle configuration is always available in the business ordering system. This will enable correct order

The Role:
Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed configuration data, ensuring full alignment to the configuration systems and the detailed engineering product description
• Integrate feature pricing, forecasting and bespoke feature requirements
• Deliver costing models to the finance team for unit cost analysis
• Ensure timely release of vehicle configuration to the ordering system for the worldwide dealer network for all vehicle programmes
• Lead forecasting to drive manufacturing capacity requirements to meet customer demand
• Negotiate and agree cross-functional processes and standards with key internal customers and suppliers across the business
• Ensure an effective, flexible and responsive service to internal customers with a consistent cross-project approach
• Lead strategic forward planning in anticipation of future trends
• Encourage continuous development of team members and team building
• Proactively drive continuous process improvement, including support for cross-functional initiatives

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ideally you will be educated to degree level or have equivalent work based experience in the automotive sector

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
In order to be successful in your application for this role you will have proven leadership qualities and people management experience. You will have automotive experience and have the technical ability to manage and handle complex data sets

You may have experience of the following:

• Order sequencing or production sequencing
• Production Scheduling
• Dealing with technical product descriptions
• Managing bills of material
