The Role:
Responsible for the safety, quality, integrity, timely completion and cost of the steel fabrication work of new facilities for a development project. This includes participation with the Construction Manager and Construction Superintendent on constructability reviews during design phase, fabricator / contractor selection and prequalification, preparation of RFQ documents, evaluation and recommendation of award of EPC bids relating to structural work, and supervision of the steel fabrication, through mechanical completion and preparation for commissioning

Primary Functions & Dimensions:
•Ensure that Company HSE&Q policies areprocedures are adhered to in all phases of the work.
•General HSE follow-up and monitoring.
•Provide constructability input into the structuralaspects of the EPC process.
•Provide experience input into the structural part of theschedule to ensure a realistic schedule is produced.
•Provide technical input to the cost group to fairlyassess any contractual claims from the maincontractor.
•Monitor performance of the EPC contractor onstructural fabrication, fit up, dimensional check andcontrol, lifting, component erection, float-overoperation, installation and load out.
•Coordinate a group of Structural / Welding Inspectorsand ensure that the facilities are constructed as per thedesign requirements and to the quality standardnecessary for compliance with UK authorities andCompany requirements.
•Ensure that all structural construction work iscompleted on time and within the allocated budgetwith a “seamless” transfer to the Commissioningteam.
•Ensure that all heavy lifts are properly engineered /assessed and carried out in a safe manner.
•Review all site transport activities and final load-outto ensure that these operations are carried out in a safemanner to avoid injury to personnel or damage to theasset.
•Help resolve field clarification issues that will arisewith the EPC contractor and the equipment suppliers.Review and make recommendations for all “FieldVariation Order Requests” and “Request forInformation” queries.
•Ensure contractor personnel follow project work andprocess procedures throughout the construction phase.

Critical Skills:
1.Core Technical Experience
•Significant major project experience is preferred.
•Significant experience with construction of large NorthSea projects.
•Demonstrated strong technical competence.Understanding of operational and maintenancerequirements with regard to platform design.
2.Qualifications
•BSc within Engineering or Construction
•Less formal education may be compensated withdocumented relevant experience.
3.Personal Characteristics
•Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment.
•Have demonstrated interpersonal / teamwork skills,and strong written and oral communication skills.
