The Company:
Our client, a diverse Canadian Energy Company, plans new developments estimated at $12+ Billion over the next 5 years.This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador will be given first consideration for this position.

Work location will be in various remote locations in Newfoundland and Labrador along Transmission Route.

The Role:
Working as a Construction Coordinator in Overland Transmissions the ideal candidate would be responsible for the following:

• Works and interfaces extensively with the Area Construction Manager, Contracts Administrator, H&S advisors, and Environmental Monitors in order to collectively ensure that Contractor is adhering to its Execution Plan, including all supporting plans and procedures required to ensure that the work is done to the level of specified quality, safety and environmental standards;
• Investigates upcoming work areas for issues or potential issues that may adversely impact construction and takes those steps appropriate to mitigate these impacts;
• Inspects work areas for compliance with safety, environmental and other related functions. Contact with the appropriate group will be affected to assure awareness of the affected group and to assure follow-up;
• Coordinates with all QC inspection personnel assigned to the Area;
• Coordinates construction field surveillance activities with respect to QC inspection activities, field engineering, materials management, H&S Advisors and Environmental Monitors based upon agreed work prioritization with Area Construction Manager;
• Ensures that there is a sufficient level and competency of QC inspectors available to support the verification of the contractor's work in accordance with the Agreement's technical specifications;
• Provisions technical support to the Contract Administrator with respect to the review and validation of contractor's progress declaration and certificates;
• Supports the review of contractor Concession Requests;
• Prepares regular job progress status reports and review contractors status reports for the Area Construction Manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a journey lineman, QC inspector or similar role to acquire adequate field experience in Transmission Line Construction works.
• Working as a civil / structural QC inspector;
• Foundation and geotechnical conditions;
• Background in contract administration;
• Ability to read design drawings and understand & enforce job specifications.

Educational Requirements:
• Minimum post-secondary graduation from a recognized technical program or a related discipline.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Job Requirements:

• Must be able to spend prolong time in field conditions, which include adverse weather conditions and rough terrain;
• Valid Driving Licence for driving Site Vehicles including Pick Ups, Snow Mobiles and Quads;
• Should be able to travel by Airplane /Helicopter;
• Must be willing to live in remote camp;
• 20/8 rotations or as per site requirements.
