The Company:
A Major international oil and gas operator seeks a construction engineer to join their team based in Houston. The role will involve extensive foreign travel.

The Role:
• Monitor the ship yard fabrication completion of the vessel
• Prepare client portion of vessel seatrials documents and other preparation activities
• Attend all Vessel seatrials • Prepare lessons-learned documents
• Reports to the New-Build Vessel Fabrication Team Site Lead.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor completion progress and track vessel delivery date
• Determine metrics to measure vessel completion progress
• Interface with contractor shipyard team to obtain updates, work to be performed and identify issues which may cause delivery delays
• Lead in the preparation of documents and other activities for the client portion of the vessel seatrials, both in Singapore and in the Gulf of Mexico
• Interface with contractors home office vessel completion team
• Provide bi-weekly progress reports • Identify potential delays and other concerns and notify Construction Management Team

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
College degree required, preferred in engineering
• Minimum 5 years experience as pipeline installation engineer, with offshore vessel experience
• Experience in the planning, analysis, preparation, and execution of deepwater pipelines installed by the S-lay method
• Willing to crawl over vessel and get dirty
• Ability to work with minimal home office supervision
• Experience with vessel pipelay equipment and the operations of a dp pipelay vessel
• Experience with scheduling programs, word processing programs • Technical writing skills and good presentation skills a plus
• Based in Houston, but with extensive foreign travel
• Must be a team player with the client construction team and Contractor’s team
• Must have safety as a priority
