The Company:
Our client is a global operator in the oil and gas sector.

The Role:
The Construction Lead shall be a member of the client's Development Project Management Team and shall report to the Development Jackets, Topsides and Greenfield Engineering Team Lead. During the construction of two jackets and two well-head topsides modules (each 3,000 Te), the Construction Lead will be responsible for providing leadership and management for all construction activities of the project and to work collaboratively with other members of the project team, construction contractors, sub-contractors and company operations.
The role is based at the main EPC Contractor’s fabrication yard in, SW Spain.

Main Responsibilities:
• Act as Client representative for all on site coordination of construction by main EPC Contractor and advise project on progress of Contractor’s fabrication deliverables against the agreed schedule.
• Will be accountable for ensuring that the construction challenges are identified, appropriately planned and the construction requirements as set out in detail design are always met and/or exceeded;
• Liaise with the Project Management Team and Discipline Leads to assess the Contractor’s ability to adequately specify the required resources, material, equipment and Sub-contractor technical competence for supply of the specified activity;
• Responsible for managing contractor's construction activities ensuring consistency with engineering designs and in accordance with the project's Goals and Objectives;
• Provide status of construction activities, production of shop drawings and field documents related to fabrication and erection and report any deviations from specifications, codes & standards in proposed supplied materials and/or services;
• Identify and participate in review of Sub-contractor technical bid evaluation process and ensure that all specified Contractor disciplines have completed satisfactory technical bid evaluation reviews;
• Reside in main EPC fabricator’s site location during construction and during the Construction phase (10 + months) the role will transition to delivering the fabrication, outfitting and mechanical completion of the two jackets and topsides modules;
• Responsible for developing a strong safety culture and be a EHS leader accountable for delivering Company and Project specific EHS targets against a background of a challenging and ever changing working environment;
• Monitor the Contractor output of all expediting data to ensure current information is available and distributed and liaise with Project Team to monitor the Contractors co-ordination of their logistics supplier in order to ensure that the planned Required On Site (ROS) dates can be achieved and report any delays to ROS dates;
• Highlight and report to the Project those orders, services and contracts where there is a likelihood where delayed materials will impact fabrication schedule;
• Provide regular and ad-hoc status reports to the Project as required on all current progress of the main Contractor during construction, erection and mechanical completion phase;
• Develop performance monitoring of Contractor and Sub-contractors utilising schedule analysis and Contractors’ available information;
• Assist the QA/QC Site Lead and Quality personnel where necessary with coordination of Contractor & Sub-Contractor Inspection in order to ensure a high quality QA/QC oversight during construction.
• Assist with Client Project Audit Schedule, conduct site audits within sub-projects and assist with project audits relating to fabrication, erection, materials handling & storage and pre-commissioning.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• HND or equivalent 3rd level qualification in an engineering or logistics discipline;
• Competent computer skills with fluent English, written and spoken;
• Substantial experience in Construction Management with a proven track record in delivering large construction projects to the standards prescribed, on time, within budget, and above all causing no harm to persons, the asset or the environment;
• Min. 20 yrs experience with previous similar role in coordination of Construction Management of Offshore Jackets & Topsides, facilities engineering, construction, mechanical completions, commissioning and startup.
• Desireable experienced in the selection and implementation of applicable codes and standards for North Sea Offshore (DNV, NORSOK, ISO, API, BS, ASME, PED, ATEX, PUWER, etc);
