The Role:
The GPO Offshore Construction Manager leads the Offshore GPO Construction Leadership Team and reports directly to the GPO Construction Manager onshore. She/he leads the agreed offshore GPO construction activities and provides assurance to the GPO Construction Manager onshore and OIM offshore for safety performance, quality build, schedule attainment and efficient execution. Work place is offshore on a 14/14 rotation with occasional days available onshore to support construction execution planning, complying with GoM HSSE protocols.
Purpose for this position:
Main purpose for this position is to lead the totality of GPO construction work offshore as the SPA on behalf of GPO projects. Demonstrable HSSE focus and leadership is a basic condition for this position.

Leadership Roles and Responsibilities:
Leadership:
• The GPO Offshore Construction Manager acts as the offshore SPA for all offshore GPO construction and is linked to the project leadership team in Houston.
• The GPO Offshore Construction Manager shall demonstrate leadership by:
o Assuring all activities within the area of responsibility be planned and executed with no accidents, no harm to people and no damage to the environment.
o Systematically managing activities to continuously reduce risk and deliver performance improvement.
o Complying with all applicable local laws and company policies and procedures.
o Consulting, listening and responding openly to our customers, employees, neighbours, public interest groups and those who work with us.
o Working with our partners, suppliers, competitors and regulators to raise the standards of our industry.
o Openly reporting performance, good and bad.
o Recognizing those who contribute to improved HSSE performance.
o Continuously improving the leadership, capability and capacity of the offshore organization.
• GPO Offshore Construction Manager is accountable for all construction activities supporting GPO, GOO and GWO and executed according their priority as reflected in the schedule.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver safe, efficient and quality build of GPO construction work offshore.
• Working directly with the OIM; ensure suitable prioritization of work activities amongst operations, drilling and projects, efficient supply of permits and availability of permitting authorities and access to support functions (cranes, laydown areas, helicopters and vessels).
• Act as SPA for offshore deployment of GPO POB with ownership of two week look ahead of planned deployment for all GPO construction resources. Ensure full utilization of all allocated POB at all times.
• Ensure workpack execution is aligned with project schedule allowing for acceleration or deferment of workpacks due to improved performance or unplanned events offshore.
• Assess productivity and make interventions or recommendations for improved performance by bp and contractor personnel.
• Make recommendations on resources and/or strategies to maintain highest level of safety, quality and schedule performance
• Drive safety and execution performance to meet or exceed GPO goals and schedule.
• Participate in periodic tele/video conferences with onshore to review performance.
• Write handover notes for back to back coverage of this position.
HSE:
• Make the HSSE goals and requirements known within the workforces and demonstrate zero tolerance regarding deviations from safety standards
• Drive completion of SOCs, Easy Cards and other leading processes to reduce risk and increase safety performance.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Internal systems and procedures:
• Thorough knowledge of HSSE directives.
• General knowledge of Control of Work procedures
• General knowledge of document management system ’Documentum’ and the project systems, PIMS and Sharepoint. Be able to find relevant procedures, documents and drawings.
• Training in two day HITRA required, incident investigation desired but not required.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum 20 years of capital projects experience, 10 years or more of projects leadership experience
• Onshore engineering and fabrication project/delivery leadership experience is required
• General knowledge of piping, mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation and dimensional control surveys.
• Familiarity with planning tools such as Primavera, Excel, etc.
• Engineering or Technical degree from accredited university
