The Role:
Project:
The Topsides Project will design, install and commission the module on the Bridge-Linked Platform, including all aspects of the integration of the module and Alder subsea facilities into Britannia (process/ utilities piping tie-ins, instruments/ controls/ safety, electrical system tie-ins, HMI upgrades etc.)

Responsibilities:
• Ensure that construction aspects and brownfield familiarity are incorporated into the Topsides Project design to maximise the constructability of all aspects of the project, including shutdown tie-ins, general brownfield scope and module design, throughout the project life from early front-end engineering through to project close-out, to ensure that overall project cost, schedule, safety and quality objectives are achieved.
• Take a proactive approach to incorporating safety into the Alder Topsides design and adopting the principle of inherent safety wherever possible. Work with fellow PMT discipline engineers and contractor engineers to develop engineering solutions which minimise the potential for incidents throughout the project and subsequent field-life.
• Interface with the process engineering and piping/ layout groups to ensure that construction issues are incorporated into the design from the outset, thus minimising the number of engineering cycles required to deliver a fit-for-purpose design.
• Expedite the project plan to deliver high quality solutions consistent with the agreed Topsides Project objectives and deadlines.
• Responsible for reviewing all contractor cost/ manhour estimates to ensure best value for client.
• Take lead role in offshore survey work, and in leading construction work offshore during shutdowns and general execution phase.
• Assist with development of key project management system deliverables including the Statement of Requirements and Basis of Design, and any other discipline-specific deliverables associated with each phase of the process.
• Responsible for development of all Construction Management and Constructability deliverables throughout the engineering phases of the project.
• Ensure compliance with the Project Management System
•Work in compliance with the agreed management of change and risk management processes. Act as Focal Point for any construction-related management of change, specification changes, deviations, etc. to quantify and manage associated quality, cost and/ or schedule impacts.
• Ensure that the design in all areas of responsibility is in accordance with the Basis of Design, Company HSE and quality standards, and relevant codes and specifications, and that reliability and operability are given priority.
• Assist in development or updating, review and approval of all applicable engineering deliverables, including specifications, reports, drawings, data sheets, calculations etc. relevant to the discipline.
• Responsible for raising any areas of concern with the project management at the earliest opportunity.
• Responsible for proactively managing the project safety performance.
Essential skills/ experience:
- Qualified to HNC-level in relevant discipline, and with evidence of leading offshore brownfield construction.
- Minimum 10 year relevant discipline experience within oil and gas industry.
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of how to develop construction plans and methods which reduce risk, reduce the potential for incidents throughout the project and field-life and improve safety.
- Highly motivated, proactive problem-solving individual with strong interpersonal skills, ability to self-start, work unsupervised, take a lead and show initiative.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Commercial and contractual awareness.
- Ability to communicate technically complex/ novel concepts to non-specialists.
Organisational Fit:
• Reports to the Project Manager.
• Interface with discipline engineers, technical authorities and other personnel within engineering contractors/ consultants, vendors, Potential to migrate to project construction management or offshore construction supervisory role during execution phase.

• Instrumental role in supporting the successful (incident-free, on-time, on-cost, meets premise and quality requirements) delivery
• Employing a holistic view of the overall Alder design, ensuring seamless integration of subsea and topsides scopes, to deliver a robust technical design and a successful project.
