Our client is a Global Engineering & Construction (E&C) Group inside which you’ll find an incredible range of expertise and opportunity.
They offer their clients a complete range of skills and services so that they can work with their teams right from the earliest ‘ideas’ stage of their planned investments, through the study or concept selection phase, the front-end design, the EPC phase, and on into the commissioning and start-up phase.

The Role:
We are now seeking an experienced Construction Manager with extensive experience within the Oil and Gas or hydrocarbons industries, specifically with experience working with onshore refinery projects. This will be a site based role - starting out in their Japan office until the end of 2014, before moving on to a 3 year assignment on site in Kuwait. The project value is in excess of $10bn. The Construction Manager will organise, manage and administer all site activities in line with Client requirements and respective legislation. The Contracts Manager will also be accountable for, but not limited to:

- Responsible for the contract requirements, policies and procedures, ensuring that the site operations requirements are implemented
- Ensuring HSES and quality policies are understood and implemented by both Client and all construction contractors
- Ensuring the project achieves objectives in line with HSES, quality, cost and schedule.
- Overseeing the completion and turnover of installation as well as obtaining Client acceptance for completed works on an on-going basis
- Ensuring local infrastructure (accommodation, transportation, government relations and security) is in place to support mobilisation of contractors to respective site locations.

This opportunity has some mandatory requirements as follows:

- An extensive track record of managing large Oil and Gas construction projects in excess of USD $500m in a previous Construction Engineering or Management role is essential
- A degree in a relevant technical discipline is required
- Strong communication and management of contractor skills is also essential
