The Role:

The Construction Manager will be responsible for the following:
• The Construction Manager will be required to supervise and safely coordinate the efforts and activities of multiple contractors in and throughout the construction of the Kitimat LNG project and Construction Camp. This position requires organization, and superior knowledge of multifunctional aspects of remote camp and Oil and Gas construction, logistics, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Have demonstrated “in-charge” and safe experience as a Construction Manager and engineer.
• Demonstrated major capital project construction experience
• Experience working on a team at remote construction sites with logistics from international locations required.
• Working knowledge of specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria.
• Working knowledge of practices, processes, and expectations with respect to Systems Completion and Commissioning.
• Must be able to work well within a diverse large multi-cultural jobsite.
• Must be a high initiative, high energy engineer, demonstrated ability to supervise and manage.
• Possess those minimum computer skills required to be effective in the performance of the work.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HSE standards and procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Commissioning and turnover procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Project.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Primavera P6.
• Previous successful construction management role during Project Management and Construction execution phases.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reports directly to the Site Execution Manager
• Understand scope of work for all project construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning efforts.
• Understand overall project schedule, and develop detailed schedules for project execution activities to support systems completion and turnover.
• Manage punch list preparation [deficiencies] for construction’s use in preparing various systems for pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Have superior knowledge of all aspects of Site Execution engineering, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning
• Be able to read and understand all standard engineering and vendor documents required for Site Execution and Construction.
• Understand thoroughly the job specifications and vendor requirements related to various items of systems required for pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Manage a multidiscipline staff providing supervision to EPC Site Execution efforts.
• Communicate and Manage related department supervisors, and with EPC execution, HSE, engineering and pre-commissioning organization.

A daily rate of $1,200 - $1,900 per day will be extended to the selected candidate. The candidate may also be eligible for pay increases.

A rotational schedule of 28 days on followed by 28 days off would be worked. The successful candidate would be expected to work a minimum of 12 hours per day.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE
• Several years of Construction Industry, including experience as a Construction Supervisor or Field Superintendent
• Several years of Projects and Construction with demonstrated experience of Refinery or LNG Plant Construction with direct “hands on” experience in international work being required.

EDUCATION
High school graduate as a minimum. Higher National Certificate in Engineering or related discipline preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
The Construction Manager must have the ability to read, write and understand the English language in a highly competent manner. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills are mandatory.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
The Construction Manager must be able to work in office and construction site environments and interact with team members and contractors throughout the day while contributing to a positive “One Team” work environment.
