The Company:
The company designs, constructs, transports, installs and removes offshore facilities for the global oil and gas industry. During the last decades they have become a significant international player in the offshore oil and gas construction industry. The Group consists of two divisions, each with a specific role in the activities of the Group

The Role:
To manage the lifecycle of a project through its period on the shopfloor with an objective of maximising productivity and efficiency utilising both strategy and experience. To develop a team approach that delivers a project on time and in budget with the assistance of all Departmental Teams.

The responsibilities of the Production Manager are:
- To co-ordinate and supervise all production/construction activities ensuring the work is carried out in a safe and proper manner including sub-contractors.
- To monitor production hours against budget.
- To participate in the development of work methods and building sequences for tenders and live projects.
- To identify and report possible system problems to the Company Management and recommend possible solutions for such problems.
- To control the authorised system documentation issued by the QA Department
- To ensure that procedures are followed and maintained.
- To provide input to the Planning Department to enable a 6 week construction 'look ahead' programme to be produced, where appropriate.
- Liaise with commissioning/mechanical completion supervisors in order to determine the sequence and priority of system completion.
- To arrange adequate training for departmental personnel.
- To participate in Root Cause Analysis accident investigations
- To perform Safety Intervention Discussions (SIDs)
- Quality, safety, health and environmental awareness (e.g. responsible for own and others safety).
- Individual risk awareness within job role.
- Identify and highlight any further training requirements of their personnel.

Authority :
- To delegate tasks under their responsibility.
- To approve appointment of departmental personnel.
- To approve timesheets, holidays and expenses.

Training Requisite:
- Budgetary Awareness.
- Coresys Production Control System.
- Safety Awareness.
- Root cause analysis training.
- Management and presentation courses.
- Safety Intervention Discussion Training (SID)
- Mitrefinch training database.

The role may involve overseas travel when required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a management position within an Oil & Gas fabrication/construction environment.
- An understanding of company Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental systems & programmes.
- Communicate in a positive manner with subordinate staff and other departmental managers.
- Planning & Organisational skills that enable the implementation of the company strategy.
- Must be computer literate.
