The Company:
Major operator is seeking a Construction Manager (VOP) for a 2 year opportunity based in Trinidad and Tobago. The Construction Manager is to manage the construction and installation aspects of a project from the selection of the technical design through to handover.

The Role:
• Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSSE performance in support of the Project Manager’s accountabilities, apply relevant HSSE Standards and local requirements on all construction activities.
• Ensure a robust HSSE and Quality culture is driven down through the construction organisation, such that work by all contractors and other parties at site is undertaken in an appropriate professional manner.
• Participate in constructability reviews during the FEED and Detailed Design.
• Manage the operational planning, preparation and performance of the project construction and installation works.
• Identify, review and implement all relevant worksite specific operational, construction and installation procedures.
• Establish agreed interface procedures with adjacent site occupants and operators.
• Review and verify that the contractors’ marine, construction and diving (as appropriate) personnel are suitably experienced, qualified and competent for the positions proposed.
• Arrange audits/inspections of all contractors’ installation plant and equipment to ensure they are fully certified and fit for purpose.
• Review the contractors’ plans for construction and installation activities, and ensure these are incorporated into the appropriate contracts.
• Ensure site change orders and corrective actions are processed appropriately to obtain the appropriate approvals (engineering, cost, schedule etc) and in administration of the contract.
• Liaise with the contractors with respect to the mobilisation and demobilisation of their assets and equipment at site.
• Perform inspections of material and equipment, plus associated certification, being supplied and installed by contractors.
• Ensure that the construction activity is suitably resourced to meet the required project schedule.
• Undertake progress measurement and reporting on construction activity.
• Review all logistics plans for the movement of personnel and equipment to confirm they are being conducted in the most efficient, secure and safe manner.
• Establish agreed arrangements for commissioning and handover with operations function.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years construction experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Experience working on brownfield construction and commissioning scope in an offshore project environment is desirable.
• Self starting, motivated, ability to work within several teams.
