The Company:
Our major oil and gas client is seeking a Construction Planning Engineer for a 6 month opportunity in Houston, TX. The position will be based in Houston and will involve weekly trips to New Iberia, Louisiana.

The Role:
To help finalize detailed schedules, attend daily/weekly meeting at yards, report progress/areas of concern at OMEGA/OSI fabrication Yards. List of some of the critical equipments yet to be
fabricated is given below. These installation equipments are required for SS2 The duties and responsibilities for this role are as follows: - Assist in developing the program integrated schedule consistent with the Major Projects Common Process; - Develop and manage detailed schedules covering activities through to the start of execution; - Manage and support planning activities of the contractors chosen to execute the program of work; - Ensure that schedule learning from complementary work in other business units and external companies are identified and appropriately utilized; - Assist in developing the schedule process, system and procedures to support the program; - Assess potential contractors’ and vendors’ schedule capabilities; - Provide assurance that the contractors’ schedule systems interface with company and progress measurement is effective and consistent; - Promote collaborative information sharing with team members and contractors.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, applicants must have the following qualifications: - Solid broad-based experience in both define and execute phases on projects, a clear track record of delivery and a willingness and ability to work with all disciplines; - Well developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain relationships with colleagues and contractors; - Good communications skills; - Well developed support / knowledge management networks; - Understanding of current schedule best practices and familiarity with Primavera P3 / P3ec; - Excellent teamwork skills, including the ability to work with various sub-teams to resolve issues and reach decisions that are in the best interest of the program.
