The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, is urgently seeking two Construction Senior Planners to work at Site as soon as possible.

The rotation for this role is 5w/3w (but it is negotiable).

The Role:
Job function:
• The Planning Lead develops the Project and sub-project schedule and all aspects of progress measurement, schedule development and schedule control. The incumbent oversees both short and long range planning, including application of industry standards/criteria to all plans. Integrates mobilizing sub-contractor schedules into baseline schedules

Responsibilities and duties:
• Provide overall project schedule, progress measurement, and change management leadership and expertise
• Maintain close liaison with members of the Construction contractor organization
• Ensure that appropriate Contractor project controls staffing levels and controls tools are employed by the EPC Contractor
• Coordinate, monitor, and assess Contractor’s efforts in project planning, sampling to assure Quality deliverables.
• Steward the EPC contractor's project control organization with respect to:
o Schedule development, control and progress measurement
• Advise the EPC contractor's organization with respect to:
o Project controls tools and reports
o Contractor's efforts in schedule
• Conduct briefing sessions for project team members with respect to project control requirements and processes
• Supporting Project Management Team (PMT) and Cost Stewards with on going project progress and schedule analysis, reporting, forecasting, and Change Management.
• Develop and document Schedules monthly, and ensuring that these products reflect the approved project design/execution scope
• Analyze schedule trends, develop and review schedule forecasts
• Monitor and report on schedule implications of changes
• Participate in developing Contract Control Schedules and Milestones
• Respond to ad hoc requests from PMT related to Controls/Reporting

• Capable of challenging construction schedule sequencing, rules of credit and resource loading
• Demonstrated advanced expert level skills in planning
• Demonstrated expert Level skills in the use of Primavera P6
• Demonstrated leadership, team building, and strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent planning and organizational skills, as well as oral and written communications skills
• Excellent business judgment and decision-making skills
• Motivation to learn and rigorously apply other company systems including OIMS, safety systems, CIMS, and other

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience
• BS in Engineering
• 15-20 years’ experience in Scheduling/Planning
• Minimum 5 years Planning lead, including oil sand experience

Other details:
• Must have experience working in construction at site
• Must be willing to work at camp
• Contract end date: approx. 2015Q1
