• To ensure that technical excellence, practical operational survey solutions and positioning support is available to all the engineering function teams throughout the SD2 project
• Maintain awareness of, and promote, project goals in respect of HSSE, QA, Schedule, and Technical Integrity, including the motivation and supervision of the team of Company/AIOC Survey Representatives
• To integrate good survey practice into planned and existing strategies, philosophies and procedures to successfully execute the survey and positioning aspects of construction activities related to subsea installations. This is to ensure that company corporate survey standards, guidelines and project HS&E policies are achieved wherever possible
• Lead the input into the survey and positioning aspects of the Statement of Requirements (SOR) and Project Execution Plan (PEP) as required
• Participate in and assist in project Risk analysis, HAZID/HAZOP activities as necessary
• Ensure that Lessons Learned from earlier Caspian projects are appropriately considered and implemented, where appropriate, in all relevant vessel positioning and installation activities
• Provide input to SD2 project services management reports as required
• Lead by example in HSSE, promote quality and open communication within the survey community associated with the project
• Ensure optimal survey technical support is available for all SD2 activities & installations.
• Continually audit the deployed survey assets and people to ensure efficient utilisation.
• Manage the survey representatives and set appropriate individual ‘Tasks and Targets’ to ensure that project requirements are met.
• Keep individual performance of the company/AIOC Survey Representatives under review and promote any appropriate training as necessary to improve individual’s skill sets
• Liaise with project interfaces to ensure project deliverable are met
• Be the prime focal point within project team for all hydrographic survey & positioning requirements and attend relevant internal meetings .
• Liaison and interface with project members and external survey contractors as required to ensure that any assumptions they may have are tested prior to the work scope commencing.
• Monitor the supervision of the preparation of survey scopes of work by company/AIOC Reps for inclusion within survey & construction contracts to ensure that the highest standards are met.
• Review and contribute constructive analysis of survey procedures written by contractors.
• Ensure the adequate supervision of contractors’ surveyors is carried out during the execution of survey & installation work.
• Check that the preparations for briefing and supervision of the offshore survey representative’s is technically appropriate and adequate .
• Monitor contractor’s project planning activities regularly to ensure effective equipment and personnel utilisation.
• Ensure that the survey contractor’s procedures are fit for purpose to ensure full compliance with client's Tech Specs.
• Ensure that an in depth analysis & checking of survey reports & charts is carried out before reports are issued for Construction.
• Participate in HAZIDs and Readiness Reviews, as required.
• Visit survey vessels as necessary to assist as required in the audit of capabilities and equipment of survey contractors.
• Ensure good housekeeping of all survey reports & their loading into GIS databases
• Foster a good working relationship with c Survey Departments in UK and Azerbaijan.
• Have a good working knowledge of GIS systems and digital data storage systems.
• Ensure that client's HSSE philosophy is promoted vigorously to all survey contractors and where appropriate carry out motivational presentations promoting safe working practices and client’s Golden Rules.
• To continuously strive to improve efficiency using new and innovative technology and to cascade any relevant techniques and procedures throughout the project survey community

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications/experience:
Technical Qualifications: University degree, or the professional equivalent, in Surveying/Geomatics, plus a recognised professional management qualification and/or a proven track record of survey project management for at least five years in the offshore Industry.
Experience: Survey Project Manager /Team Lead Surveyor with a minimum of 10 year’s Offshore Oil & Gas industry experience and preferably at least three years in the Caspian Area. Minimum of five years’ working as a Project Surveyor on hydrographic & environmental surveys and/or charting surveys linked to construction work. A thorough understanding of the principles and practical application of Hydrographic Survey and Acoustic Metrology applications.
