The Role:
Only candidates who already have the rights to work in Azerbaijan will be considered for this role

• Maintain awareness of, and promote, project goals in respect of HS&E, QA, Schedule, and Technical Integrity, including Participation in regular audit activities
• Commit Project and Contractor Management Teams to establish project strategies, philosophies and procedures to successfully execute the construction activities related to subsea installations, ensuring that client orporate guidelines, shareholder expectations and project HS&E policies are reflected
• Input into the Statement of Requirements (SOR) and Project Execution Plan (PEP) as required
• Participate in project Risk analysis, HAZID/HAZOP activities
• Ensure that Lessons Learned from earlier Caspian projects are appropriately considered and implemented where appropriate in all relevant vessel installation activities
• Assist design Contractor on construction issues
• Provide input to Assurance Manager Risk Register
• Maintain site-reporting systems and provide input to SD2 project services management reports
• Lead by example in HSE, Quality and open communication with team and Contractors
• Ensure optimal survey technical support for all Major Projects activities & installations.
• Project management survey assets to ensure efficient usage.
• Management of survey personnel to ensure that project requirements are met.
• Liaise with project interfaces to ensure project deliverable are met
• Be a focal point within project team for all hydrographic survey & positioning requirements.
• Liaison and interface with project members and external survey contractors as required.
• Preparation of survey scopes of work for inclusion within survey & construction contracts.
• Review and contribute constructive analysis of survey procedures written by contractors.
• Supervision of contractors’ surveyors during the execution of survey & installation work.
• Preparing for, briefing and supervision of client’s offshore survey representative’s.
• Monitor contractor’s project planning activities to ensure effective equipment utilisation
• Review survey procedures from contractors to ensure compliance with client Tech Specs.
• Carry out in depth analysis & checking of survey reports & charts.
• Participate in HAZIDs and Readiness Reviews, as required.
• Visit survey vessels as necessary to audit capabilities and equipment of survey contractors.
• Ensure good housekeeping of all survey reports & their loading into GIS databases
• Foster a good working relationship with client Survey Departments in UK and Azerbaijan.
• Have a good working knowledge of GIS systems and digital data storage systems.
• Be able to promote client’s HSSE philosophy to all associated survey contractors.
• To continuously strive to improve efficiency using new and innovative technology.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Technical Qualifications: University degree or equivalent in Surveying/Geomatics.
Experience: Hydrographic surveyor with a minimum of 15 year’s Offshore Oil & Gas industry experience and preferably at least three years in the Caspian Area. Minimum of ten years’ experience working as a Project Surveyor on hydrographic & environmental surveys and/or charting surveys linked to construction work. A thorough understanding of the principles and practical application of Hydrographic Survey and Acoustic Metrology applications.
Broad oil industry experience as an Offshore Survey Representative, and good onshore project management experience associated with large projects. knowledge of industry standard HSSE procedures preferred. Requires effective and proven organisational & networking skills within the survey industry and an ability to respond to project reporting requests under time pressure.
