The Company:
Our Client is a global exploration and production company with an exciting future in Australia, with assets and exploration activities in the Timor Sea, Western Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland.

The Role:
A new opportunity has arisen for a Construction Superintendent to work for our project owner client on their LNG assets here in Queensland, Australia. Reporting to the Site Construction Manager, this role will focus on monitoring all construction activities within the area.

Liaising with contractors and sub-contractors, the successful candidate will ensure that the work scope complies with all project specification to include specifications, permits, HSE, quality and schedule. This will include being the interface with specialists and supervisors assigned to the area, as well as operations personnel during completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up phases.

Further to this the successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Establishing reporting procedures whilst liaising with Project Management, Project Controls and Contractor departments
• Reviewing and agreeing construction costs, estimates, budgets, forecasts and schedules
• Overseeing the management of project personnel including employee relations, staffing, material delivery and contract administration
• Auditing labour and work force planning to ensure effectiveness
• Participating in design development to draw from pervious experience and best practice principles

In exchange, the successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to work on a LNG project at the forefront of the Oil & Gas industry here in Australia. The incumbent will gain the opportunity to travel internationally and work in a diverse cultural environment. Furthermore, this role offers a desirable long term contract of between three and five years.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Construction Management
• Extensive experience overseeing Oil & Gas construction projects internationally
• Technical knowledge of site preparation, early civil construction and mechanical construction erection from a management perspective
• Working knowledge of all relevant engineering & construction codes and standards
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with key stakeholders

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience working on LNG projects
