The Company:
Our client is a leading global oil and gas operating company.

The Role:
•Safety Leadership – Commitment to an incident free workplace is paramount. Demonstrated safety leadership shall be initiated through daily attendance and participation in all contractor safety meetings and initiatives including:
oAdvocating the Company Zero Incident Culture (ZIC)
oAdvocating the Company Incident Free Culture (IFC)
oWeekly safety meetings
oDaily toolbox and tailgate meetings
oJobsite walk downs with the contractor
oReviewing JSAs and THAs with the contractor
oParticipation in Behavioral Based Safety (BBS)
oHazard Recognition
oSafety Audits
oMaintaining a visible Company presence in the field
•Direct supervision of contractor resources in the field, and acting as part of a Project Management Team (PMT) reporting to a Project Leader overseeing the execution of a specific project or program.
•Work under daily direction of the on-site Construction Superintendent to actively support the accountable manager (in this case the Project Construction Manager) in ensuring that construction processes are optimized and in control. An example would be ensuring all construction service contractors are working safely and operating within the established boundaries of Company.
•Providing services such as constructability reviews and bid evaluation support of all construction projects, ensuring predictability in project delivery from FEL to project closeout in support of all Project Leaders.

Direct Accountabilities
•Leading HSE performance by communicating, fostering, supporting, and enforcing Company HSE policies, procedures, guidelines, requirements, and objectives.
•Managing project execution in accordance with the project schedule; and ensuring accurate cost reporting, progressing, earned value, and productivity measurement to achieve the lowest possible cost outcome.
•Completing the Construction Readiness Processes for all assigned Capital Projects.
•Managing the resolution of project related material procurement, logistics, and site handling issues.
•Fostering productive simultaneous operations, SIMOPS, through close coordination and communications with representatives of Operations, Drilling, and other oilfield support organizations.

Indirect Accountabilities
•Coordinating full project engagement with Operations and compliance with procedures.
•Active participation in weekly Predictive Indicator Evaluations and periodic Safety Assessments of contractors.
•Maintain and ensure contractor performance in accordance with a Construction Activities RACI chart of field wide construction activities in support of all projects.
•Input and assistance with maintaining construction management tools and procedures to ensure the efficient execution of construction projects.

Civil Expertise Expectations
•Must be able to communicate to civil contractor the permitting, and environmental expectations as required by state agencies.
•Ability to read and understand survey grade stakes and understand the blue prints associated with all aspects of civil work.
•Knowledge of gravel, concrete, asphalt, blue topping sub grades, erosion controls, drainage control and the ability to make recommendations to the civil engineers when issues arise.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or equivalent
•Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
•Ten years or more of progressive construction management or engineering experience on oil / gas and Civil projects in an engineering and/or supervision role.
•Experience in administering major components of construction execution plans, from contract set up through execution and start up.
•Computer skills and proficiency (able to operate with limited or no assistance) in Microsoft Windows, Explorer, Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
•Strong demonstrable interpersonal / team building skills.
•Ability to work away from home at remote construction sites and work seamlessly and effectively with a functional alternate on a rotational schedule.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
•Military Experience
•Previous major construction or engineering experience in Alaska or a similar arctic environment.
•Advanced computer skills and proficiency in construction and business management software such as SAP, JDE, Microsoft Project, and Primavera.
•Strong demonstrated leadership, communication, public speaking, ability to influence, and organizational skills.
