Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
As a CFO Construction Supervisor your main duties and responsibilities will include:

Accountable for the supervision, coordination and incident free execution of all field construction activities on assigned projects.
Provide field execution leadership on behalf of the Project Manager – Execution (PM-E) to drive the safe, productive and cost effective management of all project related field execution activities.
Provide oversight to Contractors in the planning and execution of field work to drive efficient field execution, cost reduction, optimal schedules and safe delivery of all work activities (with special focus on higher risk work such as critical lifts, confined space entries and all Tier 1 Best Practices).
Participate in Constructability and Facility Design / Model reviews with the project team and Detailed Engineering Contractors
Participate in Contractor kick-off meetings to understand and support execution scope, provide input into the Contractor’s execution plan and to support planning for critical path field activities.
Provide a strong safety leadership presence to maintain a consistent focus on the LPS Program through visible (minimum 90%) field presence, attendance at contractor safety meetings, Toolbox talks, SPSA validations, JSA development and quality reviews, LPO participation and root cause analysis.
Ensure compliance with all safe work permits and approved safe work procedures, including Tier 1 Best Practices. Work with assigned Safety Representatives and site Operations to safely and efficiently achieve all project objectives.
Develop, promote and achieve a positive and productive team atmosphere between CFO Projects, Operations and Contractors to establish and align on common priorities, goals and objectives.
Ensure that Purchase or Change Orders are issued and in place prior to the execution of any work.
Maintain a daily log documenting day-to-day activities, key issues and resolution decisions made in the field. Issue written progress and other execution reports as required by the PM-E and CFO leadership.
Ensure any variances to resource loaded Contractor schedules are identified to the PM-E.

This role requires frequent travel to multiple locations across Canada for extended durations, including periodic weekend stay-overs.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
As a CFO Construction Supervisor you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

Experience in successfully applying injury case management and related notification protocols
Minimum 10 years’ experience providing industrial construction oversight with demonstrated supervisory responsibilities; a skilled trades background is an asset
Demonstrated capability in field supervisory role(s), preferably with installation and commissioning of Capital and Opex projects
Ability to become fully competent on CFO PDM policies, procedures and Tier 1 Best Practices
Demonstrated willingness to travel and stay on site assignments for extended durations, potentially on a rotational basis
Ability to provide simultaneous oversight to multiple field level activities
Some operational knowledge and/or background would be an asset

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Overtime and Travel:

Overtime is applicable on air travel occurring outside business hours, based on the actual flight time (including layovers) +1.5 hours
