The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
Main Goals & Objectives
Responsible for production intent vehicle packaging in relation to the identification of package conflict and the prioritisation of package issues to meet customer and stakeholder requirements.
Responsible for cross functional working to facilitate package conflict resolution, plus the autonomous creation of package proposals for decision.
Responsible for hard point compliance during downsteam vehicle development to BF and the provision of a conflict-free package at B release for all Group products.

Key Responsibilities
Support and Lead Design Development
Advanced knowledge of design and development techniques and technologies in area of responsibility.
Responsible for the specification or integration of design requirements for an area of responsibility.
Resolution of package conflict in the run up to Engineering release, as part of the change management process.
Identification and communication of Geometry and Platform changes back into the Project teams and into concurrent projects within Concepts.
Identification and communication of System Integration status and consequences of late change/decisions.
Communication of design changes and implications to the Contextual Design Manager to ensure that feedback is captured for the Concept phase of future projects.
Delivery of Projects
Responsible for planning and managing own project-related activities on a weekly basis.
Internal and external reporting of project status for area of responsibility.
Facilitation of cross-functional working with customers and stakeholders from other areas of the business.
Collaborative working with suppliers to progress project deliverables.
Basic financial awareness of their role and consequences of actions within the organisation.
Knowledge of part/systems cost with an understanding of value engineering.
Analysis of design-related issues to identify the root cause.
Ability to solve complex engineering and design-related problems, through the application of decision-making tools.
Collect, manage and analyse data to produce reports as appropriate and develop design guidelines.
Developing and Maintaining Specialist Knowledge
Responsible for sharing specialist technical knowledge in area of responsibility.
Capturing and documenting, learning from previous experience.
Networking and building relationships with Group partners to keep up-to-date with latest group developments.
Ability to Work Within a Team
Able to work effectively in the functional team. Responsible for own contribution in delivering team objectives.

Engineering Degree or equivalent
Associate membership of a relevant professional institution preferable

Skills & Experience
Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums.
Design and development skills.
Ability to influence colleagues within your area of responsibility.
Understanding of financial limits within area of responsibility.
Skills required by local area.
German language preferable.
Ability to solve problems.
Practical & Technical Knowledge
Knowledge of: Design and development; Test and measurement; Engineering drawings; Software tools.
Understanding of Product Emergence Process (PEP).
