The Role:
• Understand the technical and commercial factors that are relevant for each transaction and how to influence/impact them to derive maximum benefit for BP.
• Apply knowledge of commercial contract law and BP guidelines, practices and requirements to assess, plan and negotiate best terms and conditions.
• Develops and fosters positive working relationships with internal clients.
• Contracts administrator – administrative duties include contract preparation, bid packaging execution, filing, insurance administration, contract management, etc.
• Handles general commercial transactions.
• Develop a general knowledge of BP commodity areas.
• Support industry and market analysis for assigned commodities.
• Develops, evaluates and monitors action plans for continuous supplier improvement.
• Analyzes spend and gathers intelligence from suppliers.
• Manages vendor relationships, expedites and resolves improvement and performance issues.
• Provides center of expertise support: UCC, contract terms and conditions, etc.
• Maintains Toledo Refinery Vendor Master database and is point of contact for entering new vendors and updating current vendors in database.
• Maintains Toledo Refinery Approved Contractor database and the Pacific Industrial Contracting System (PICS) in conjunction with the Senior Safety Advisor.
• Facilitates data integrity assuredness through use of, Oyster, Maximo and Oracle.
• Develops and reports assigned performance measures and utilized information to identify and institute improvements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree
• Minimum of 5 years procurement experience.
• Negotiation and contracting experience
• Industrial and/or Chemical procurement experience
• Supplier evaluation and selection experience preferred
• Oil Refinery procurement experience preferred.
