The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a Contracts Engineer for a Oil & Gas operator to be based in Norway

Location: Bergen
Duration: 3 Years
Day Rate: Negotiable – will be all inclusive rate
Days worked: 5 days per week

Assist the Package Manager in the implementation of the Contracts (contractual and commercial documents) for the SPS Package, including full Change Order control.
To follow up the contract schedule and progress with the planning lead highlighting slippage risk, follow and check the all commercial matters (Invoices, variation request issued by Contractor etc)
To consolidate the internal reporting to the management

Administrate the Contract(s) to ensure contractor compliance, providing proactive Contractual/commercial support to the Package Manager during the Contract execution phase, including attendance at meetings (Weekly, monthly CO meetings).
Co-ordinate and review all correspondence issued to, and received from, Contractor and provide draft responses for Package Manager consideration.
Co-ordinate and manage all Change Order processes including COR/CO log management, performing contract and commercial reviews and, proposing responses for Package Manager consideration. Liaise with Contract Manager (PBF).
Administrate Package control and co-ordinate/follow up all cost control, planning and document control activities to support Package Manager and SPS team and provide reporting to Contract Manager (PBF).
Coordinate and lead all matters concerning insurance related topics for the SPS package. Co-ordinate where required all HR matters, in liaison with project HR administrator including preparation of technical service contracts if required.
Co-ordination and management of commercial and contract issues with Angolan operations related to the Package in conjunction with Package Manager.
Participate to the settlement of dispute together with legal, insurance and finance specialists with assistance of Contract Manager (PBF) when requested.
Propose improvement of CA referential, participate to its evolution.
Participate to suppliers and contractors evaluation and follow up.
Participate to the decision process for any future contract attribution.
Provide Project Control Management for the SPS package + ensure full contract management activities.
Manage Document/Cost control. Follow up planning activities
File the Contract & Procurement related documents according the document filing system.

Travel to Aberdeen (monthly meetings), to Luanda, Angola (Local content workscope) and to Malaysia.
Good mobility is therefore required for this position.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualification : Engineering or QS degree
Professional Experience (number of years) : 10
Experience of contract (number of years) : 15 years mainly in Contract/Controls Management ( SPS if possible)
Oral/written fluency in English Mandatory, Working knowledge of French appreciated
