The Company:
Our global leading client is seeking highly skilled, experienced & capable contract international employees to work on a large multinational complex oil & gas project.

The Role:
Position start date is 1st October 2011

Schedule- resident or 6 / 2 off rotator (if residency is a dealbreaker) we do need someone who will spend at least 6 straight weeks in-country at a time.

Establishes, manages and continually improves the mechanisms by which contracting process is implemented.
Takes an advisory role in concluding contract terms with suppliers and coaching PSCM Practitioners in contracting best practices as part of PSCM continuous improvement agenda.

Key accountabilities
• Establishes mechanisms for contract management, referring to industry best practice and continually seeking improvement in these mechanisms.
• Establishes and communicates best practices in devising terms and conditions related to scope and remuneration sections of the contract.
• Advises on, or facilitates the processes by which contracts are created and concluded and placed with suppliers
• Works with PSCM Practitioners to help them build negotiation strategies with suppliers on individual contracts
• Provides guidance to Lines on post-award contractual interpretation matters
• Is capable in strategic cost management and TCO methodologies
• Works with Category teams in selecting suppliers to create and influence enhanced safe and reliable operations
• Facilitates regular reviews with technical an operations teams, to monitor the performance of suppliers against their commitments on deliverables, timescales/ milestones, team performance, cost, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Facilitates regular reviews with Category teams / Lines to ensure control over contract amendments. Reinforces avoiding ad-hoc scope and/or pricing changes that are not contractually specified
• Proactively works with Contracting & Compliance team on addressing the contractual weaknesses / breakdowns revealed in the course of supplier audits
• Proactively works with Client Legal to ensure best contracting practices.
• Coaches and trains PSCM Practitioners on various contracting best practices, including risk identification and remediation (anti bribery & corruption, safety & operational risk, etc.), commercial law, contract drafting, etc.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have a degree from a recognized institution in engineering or business related discipline coupled with strong supply chain background and track record of successfully managing 3rd party interface and delivering results. Previous experience in face to face contract management within an oil & gas or similar operating environment. Proven experience of contracts formulation, as well as negotiating contracts.
