The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia.

The Role:
The Contracts Advisor position is a critical member of Business Unit Supply Chain and is responsible for contracting activities including adherence to procedures and project requirements and providing advice and contracting support to contract owners and users and other department personnel. This role will require the candidate to have considerable experience and demonstrate a proven track record of performance in contracting. Should have extensive hands on experience as well as in the preparation and administration of contracts. Ability to work as part of a high performance Team and the ability to effectively interact with a variety of personnel, with a professional demeanor and the ability to work independently is a prerequisite. • Use existing Upstream and Business Unit contracting processes and procedures. Seek and pursue opportunities for improving tools and procedures
• Support business unit objectives to leverage existing contracts to better manage contractors Contract Systems and Work Processes
• Ensure adherence to Global Upstream and Business Unit contracting processes and procedures, including necessary approvals
• Responsible to ensure all compliance needs of contracts are satisfied including insurance certificates, authority levels, approvals, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act etc.
• Supporter of contracting best practices
• Support and use of company standard procurement tools (Sourcing/Contracts/Transacting)
• Use of Contractor HES Management process and Prequalification process
• Support/Lead all sourcing and new contract development activities as directed by Senior Contracts Advisor
• Responsible for supplier qualification and bidders short list development
• Responsible for bid tactics, bid package, evaluation criteria and bid release
• Responsible for bid evaluation, negotiation strategy, and bid exceptions
• Responsible for finalizing contract documents, ensuring effective works scope and compensation terms, obtaining approval, executing contract and communicating bid results
• Ensure complete implementation of contracts within the Procurement systems to make ready for transactions
• Implement contract transition to supplier management for selected suppliers
• Develop and administer non-strategic/one time/minor services contracts Contract Administration:
• Ensure contract transactions are in accordance with the contract terms through engagement with suppliers and contract owners.
• Manage contract changes/amendments/variations
• Perform final contract review and close out
• Work closely with Contract Owners and departments regarding contract activities.
• Lead and/or assist (as necessary) Contract Owners to resolve/negotiate exceptions and commercial terms, working closely with legal group to agree terms and conditions

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•University studies in engineering, commerce, economics, finance, or supply chain
•Must have O&G industry (or equivalent) experience, good interpersonal skills and team player capabilities with good supply chain knowledge and technical experience for the category
•Contracting process and computerized system knowledge.
•MS Office, Procurement systems (JDE, Ariba, others), project management, strong communications. Strong communication skills, ability to perform detailed contract writing
