The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
The Commercial/Contract manager will provide support to the organization in all matters of a contractual/legal matters. Contract Managers within the business have not been formally trained in contract law, contract drafting or contract negotiation. All departures from standard terms and matters of a legal nature are therefore dealt with by the Commercial/Contract Manager. The role is pivotal in their ability to undertake contracted work. The Commercial/Contract Manager advises in relation to various Directives as and when required.

Key duties will include:

• Advise the General Manager, Operations Managers, Solution Group Managers and Contract Managers on contract matters, risk management and compliance
• Draft and negotiate contracts and other legal instruments
o Framework agreements
o Contracts
o Non-Disclosure Agreements
o Bank/Performance Guarantees
o Collateral warranties
o Novations
• Interacts with the UK Commercial Group and other legal representatives
o UK
o Internal Group/Regions
• Manage UK and Business Unit risk review processes
o BU Web review database
o FAPT databases
• Provide induction and training of employees in commercial matters (Commercial Awareness Courses)
• Manage and chair business reviews
• Undertake Contract audits
• Maintain Agreements Register

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Sound knowledge of Contract Law (England and Wales)
• Broad experience in drafting, negotiation, management of contracts and dispute resolution in an engineering environment (EPC, Goods, Services etc.)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact at senior levels
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• A European language
• Overseas experience (working within different cultures)
