The Company:
A major Global operator focusing on Exploration and Production operating in more than 110 countries and employing over 100,000 people. A leader in the Oil and Gas and Petrochemical Industries priding themselves in their innovation and Environmental/Energy Efficiency

The Role:
Project vision is to decommission the facilities in a safe and environmentally responsible way, efficiently, while maintaining Company and Client reputations. The project will be one of the largest decommissioning projects to take place on the UKCS due to the size and complexity of the facilities. The project is a Company major project with significant technical and commercial challenges. Currently, approx. 100 personnel are assigned to the project team, based in Aberdeen. Overall, the project is currently in the define phase with overall VAR 4 planned for Q1 2013. Project key contracting strategies have previously been endorsed and tendering activities for major scopes are currently in progress.

Role The Contracts Engineer reports directly to the Project CP Manager and is co-located in the project within the Project Services team.

Key Activities.
• Support to the project team on CP principles, processes and procedures.
• Assist(project CO, CH & CP team) to develop Contracts Boards submissions.
• Ensure CP strategies and tactics are aligned with Project HSSE & SD objectives.
• Ensure appropriate contractor prequalification for applicable project tender activities.
• Ensure appropriate wording of the CP strategy in tender and contract documentation.
• Maintain a close working relationship with project services, finance, legal, insurance etc.
• Implementation of the tender, bid evaluation and contractor selection process to deliver best value to the Project whilst seeking business improvement opportunities.
• Ensure that tendering, bid clarification evaluation and recommendation for award processes are in compliance with the SGBP and CP procedures governing the Project.
• Ensure post award contract management & control plans implemented - major contracts.
• Ensure contract variations are addressed to avoid undue escalation and claims.
• Ensure compliance with US Export Controls and EU / Competition Laws.
• Assist in the resolution of contractual disputes and the appropriate processing of claims.
• Support HSSE Contractor Management and Goal Zero / Life Saving rules. Skills and Qualities

• Apply CP Processes & Systems- Knowledge Supervision Reports directly to the Project CP Manager.
Project CP team directly report in the Projects & Technology CP line and is co-located with the Project Team in Aberdeen (Tullos office) and indirectly report to Project Services Manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Previous exposure to CP activities. Further education qualifications an advantage. Commercial sense, business acumen and the ability to prioritise and effectively manage workload are essential. Previous exposure to project & subsea contracting.
