The Company:
Our Client is a major international Drilling company with a particular focus on the Middle East market.

The Role:
JOB TITLE: Contract Manager

REPORTING TO: Director of Finance & Marketing

1. PURPOSE OF ROLE

Responsible for contract content and management in client area. Experience of dealing with at least 4-5 rigs and their contracts with be required.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES

Management
• Responsible for Contract Coordinators including professional development and review of performance.
• Work with all business professions/ areas to reduce risk, increase efficiency and maximize revenue.

Contract administration
• Detailed knowledge of the Contract – including review of all pre-award and subsequent commercial/ contractual correspondence to ensure that client contractual position is optimised and not jeopardised.
• Responsible for commercial follow up and contract administration in cooperation with Rig manager and Project manager.
• Provide guidance on contract / commercial requirements, pursue opportunities and advise of obligations, objective and risk within the Contract to the Operations Team.
• Focal point with regards to contractual follow up and requirements towards the Company.
• Establish proper invoicing routines in close cooperation with Rig Manager/Cost Controller.
• Arrange a commercial review of the Contract prior to commencement together with Rig Manager/Project Manager and his Operations Team.
• Review of Amendments/Variation Order Requests, incl. commercial issues, prior to submission to Company.
• Responsible for escalation of rates and distribution of the approved adjusted rates.
• Hold a control function and check that rates and invoicing are in compliance with the Contract.
• Ensure relevant contractual correspondence is properly registered in the document management system.
• Assist in the resolution of contractual disputes and Involve legal resources as required.

Market/Tender activities
• Prepare Tender input within the agreed timeframe and in accordance with requirements set out in the ITT.
• Submit any clarifications to Tender Coordinator.

Organisation
• Identify areas/processes for contractual administration that can be standardised in order to improve efficiency in business and reduce business risk across client
• Implement best practise for contract administration and dispute management & Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
4. PERSON SPECIFICATION

Knowledge Skills
• Bachelor or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Law. Extensive experience may compensate for lack of formal qualifications.
• Minimum of 7 years of related prior experience with Contract Management with excellent working knowledge of Customer Terms and Conditions
• Strong commercial attitude and able to work under pressure.
• Structured and systematic with good communication and writing skills.
• Dynamic and enthusiastic team player with the ability to manage and motivate staff.
