The Company:
Our Client is the Operator of one of the largest remaining gas fields with estimated reserves of about 3tcf, to be produced during a 30 year lifespan, will meet about 8% of the country's gas requirements.

The Role:
Reporting to the Contracts Team Leader, the Contracts Specialist will manage all allocated contracting activities related to portfolio including contract administration and contract close out. The selected candidate will work within a team of five individuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Perform contracting activities for a portfolio of contracts. This includes RFP (Request for Proposal/Information, etc.) and processing Contracts
•Assist in the development and documentation of Contract Strategiesn, and ensure all contract activities meet the needs of the business
•Identify, develop and deliver financial savings and value creation by developing contracting strategies for ongoing activities through application of supply chain management skills and techniques
•Maintain adherence to strong contracting processes and procedures while working with our contracting community
•Utilise all Procurement expertise available to gain greater market and contractor knowledge
•Gain a full understanding of company procedures and processes and follow these principles in all aspects of the role
•Ensure strict confidentiality of all allocated contracts and bid processes
•Be an active supporter of knowledge sharing opportunities within the functional team
•Participate in some aspects of Contract Management

KEY SKILLS:

•Knowledge of commercial frameworks
•Good contract drafting skills
•Some negotiation skills
•Knowledge of integrated supply chain organisation
•Self-motivated and enthusiastic with ability to work as part of a team
•Good communication skills with a cross functional application
•Good presentation skills
•Knowledge of EU legislation as it applies to procurement of goods and services
•Demonstrate ethical integrity
•Fully competent in SAP and Microsoft software package

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Experience preferably within an Oil & Gas company, in a supply chain/procurement/contracting environment(s)
•Commercial experience / expertise
•Knowledge of contract language and legal clauses
•Strong written / oral communication skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
A degree in business or CIPS qualification preferable.
