Contractor HSE management supervisor

The Role:
PURPOSE & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Provide leadership, Coaching and Training to the Project staff, mainly leadership on Contractor HSSE management aspects through continuous engagement, communication and motivation
2. Act as Contractor HSSE Management subject matter expert, assures HSSE content of Contracts and works with Contracting & Procurement (C&P) to implement Contract Pre-qualification and ITT related work
3. Develop tools and templates to facilitate implementation of contract HSE management, particularly at mobilisation and during ongoing work
4. Deliver the Contractor Holder HSSE training and coaching program
5. Provide leadership and support to Contract Holders throughout the Contract lifecycle, significantly during pre-qualification, pre-mobilisation and on performance management

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS/SPECIAL CHALLENGES:
- Promote the adoption and adherence to international HSE standards,
- Proven ability to work with contractors working in a weak HSE culture environment, (needs to work with and develop red-banded contractors – as per HSE capability assessment and improve their HSE systems and people to meet minimum critical company requirements)
- Leveraging lessons from existing projects and operating facilities
- Ability to continually create energy in safety management, particularly within the Contractor/Sub Contractor community.- Nurture and maintain strong and positive stakeholder relationships (Partner, Govt, local communities)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Engineering Degree, NEBOSH or equivalent, with at least 5 years experience in an Operational or Construction HSSE role
2. Experience with C&P procedures, exposure to C&P working protocols
3. Previous experience as a contract holder will be an advantage

KEY COMPETENCES REQUIRED:
1. Broad expertise and experience to organise and implement sound, integrated Contractor HSSE programmes across a Project or operating unit
2. Strong competence in Group Contractor HSSE Management deliverables and processes
3. Should have the professional and personal stature to interface with, and influence a wide variety of stakeholders, including senior management, contractors, sub-contractors and HSSE professionals
4. Incumbent shall be a team player, retaining personal responsibility to deliver all the key Contractor HSSE components within the Project
5. Provide training and coaching to Project staff on Contractor HSSE Management
6. Provide coaching and mentoring of senior staff
