The Company:
One of the world’s leading engineering, project management and consultancy companies.

The Role:
Review, preparation and negotiation of contracts and other agreements in line with policies and procedures, and the provision of general contractual advice.

Key aims and objectives:

Providing management with clear, accurate advice on contractual arrangements for prospective contracts as part of the tender process.

Ensuring that contractual arrangements entered into conform to the requirements established in relevant policies and procedures.

Ensuring that all agreements, contract arrangements and other legal documents provided by or to The organisation are in accordance with policy and procedural requirements.

Resolving contractual and legal matters arising during the execution of projects to the best advantage.


Prime responsibilities and duties:

Maintain and promote a safe working environment and demonstrate correct HSE behaviours and leadership.

Review of contracts in accordance with Contracting Principles.

Preparation of contractual qualifications.

Negotiation of contracts.

Obtain approval for entering into contracts in accordance with policies and procedures.

Preparation and negotiation of joint venture agreements.

Preparation and negotiation of range of other agreements (including Confidentiality Agreements, Collaboration

Agreements, Novation Agreements and Assignment Agreements).

Liaison with finance, tax, treasury, legal and insurance departments.

Preparation of applications for bonds and guarantees in accordance with policies and liaison with Secretarial Department regarding provision of bonds and guarantees as appropriate.

Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.

Provision of general contractual advice and support to projects.

Maintaining a library of standard agreements, contracts and other legal documents.

Keeping abreast of current legal issues and practice.

Insurance Department.

Tax Department.

Tendering Department.

Treasury Department.

Company Secretarial Department.

Legal Department.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Core competencies:

University graduate or above in Quantity Surveying, Law, Business Studies or other appropriate discipline.

Experience in the review and negotiation of contracts in the oil and gas industry

Membership of a professional institution (eg RICS).

Specific competencies to be in accordance with commercial management competence scheme.
