The Company:
Our Client is a leading Operating company, with involvement in major projects globally.

The Role:
Our Client is seeking a Contracts Advisor with 5+ years of Direct Major Capital Project Contracting Development and Management experience, to coordinate project contracting activities for their project in Kuwait.

This is a residential position in Kuwait. Initial contract duration is 6 months.

Duties include:
Prepare and assemble contracts and ensure company procedures are applied correctly.
Raise and increase Work Requests in the Contract Management System as required.
Assists in the establishment and implementation of Project Resources Company (PRC) bid evaluation procedures and project contracting administrative procedures to ensure effective practices are utilized.
Participates and supports Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and EPC/EPCI/EPCM bid document preparations, issues, clarifications, evaluations, contractor selection and contract negotiations through to contract award.
Assists or leads preparation for, and coordination of contract mobilization.
Coordinates administration of FEED and major EPC/EPCI/EPCM contracts, including contract change management, lien waivers, insurance, claims mitigation and closeout.
Prepares and administers all third party contracts.
Ascertains that contracts state all elements that clearly define terms and conditions delineating rights and duties of all parties concerned.
Ensures all corporate compliance needs of contracts are satisfied including insurance certificates, authority levels, approvals, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, etc.
Ensures all project joint venture requirements regarding contracting processes are satisfied.
Manages well all contract changes, i.e. adding, omitting, or deviating from specified requirements in the contract, as directed by the Company.
Acts as a point person for contract audits when required.
Participates in the Company Corporation Contracts Administration/Administrator network for lessons learned, best practices, and for peer communication.
Cooperates and coordinate with various Company Legal and Contracting groups for contracting activities.
Carries out other similar or related duties including, but not limited to, coordinating and attending Project meetings and with other concerned Divisions; adhering to all environment, health & safety policies, rules and regulations and reporting potential hazards to appropriate parties, etc.
Provide general contractual / commercial advice to Project Engineers / Managers and prepare correspondence to Contractors on routine contractual / commercial matters for approval by Company Representatives.
Review draft sub-contract enquiries, requests for proposals, bid evaluations, and draft sub-contracts.
Ensures all documentation is stored correctly in the Document Management System in accordance with SCM procedures
Issues contracts status reports based on contract value, work orders and expenditure.
Maintains contract insurance registers and internal correspondence registers.
Acts as a liaison between Project Engineering / Construction and other Company Departments such as Finance, Legal and Contract Formulation.
Reviews correspondence from Contractors and ensures that replies are prepared when necessary.
Will participate in the preparation of these responses where appropriate or required.
Prepares and raises Work Authorizations, Service Order Contracts as required for approval by Company Representatives for issue to Contractors.
Obtains guarantees, insurance certificates etc. as required from Contractors and forward to Legal, Insurance and Contract Formulation Groups as necessary for review and approval.
Advises the Project Controls Supervisor and other Company Representatives on change control matters (Change Orders).
Raises Contract Supplements / Extensions / Change Orders for approval by Company Representatives and obtain Contractor signatures also

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
4 year undergraduate university degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Management required. MBA in Supply Chain Management (SCM) or certificate in SCM preferred.
5-8+ Years of Direct Major Capital Project Contracting Development and Management experience with higher level degree

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Previous experience in the Middle East
