The Role:
Our leading client is currently recruiting for a Contracts Advisor to be based in Aktau working on a 28/28 rotation.

Coordinates project contracting activities ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures. Assists with the development of contracting strategies and plans, undertakes market analysis and manages bid document preparation, manages supplier clarifications, oversees development of evaluation criteria and assists in evaluation and negotiation activities, and oversees preparation and coordination of contract documentation for award. Assists in contract mobilizations, and supervises administration and management of a range of project contracts, including Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contracts, and preparation and administration of all smaller third party contracts. Establishes and maintains interfaces with key stakeholders of the project.

FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Assists in the establishment, development and implementation of the project contracting strategies and project contracting plans aligned with processes, policies, procedures, guidelines, and satisfying government requirements.
b. Directs and supports EPC and other contract type bid document preparations, issues, clarifications, evaluations, contractor selection and contract negotiations through to contract award. Assists or leads preparation for, and coordination of contract mobilization.
c. Coordinates administration of major EPC contracts, including contract change management, financials, insurance, claims mitigation and closeout.
d. Supervises preparation and administration of all third party contracts. Ascertains that contracts state all elements that clearly define terms and conditions delineating rights and duties of all parties concerned.
e. Ensures all corporate compliance needs of contracts are satisfied including insurance certificates, authority levels, approvals, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, etc.
f. Ensures all project joint venture requirements regarding contracting processes are satisfied.
g. Oversees development and implementation of all contract changes, i.e. adding, omitting, or deviating from specified requirements in the contract, as directed by the Company.
h. Acts as a point person for contract audits when required.
I. Cooperates and coordinate with various Company Legal and Contracting groups for contracting activities.
j. Carries out other similar or related duties including, but not limited to, coordinating and attending Project meetings and with other concerned Divisions; adhering to all environment, health & safety policies, rules and regulations and reporting potential hazards to appropriate parties, etc.

LATITUDE
a. Reports to In-Country Contracts Manager (functionally) with day-to-day direction from Delivery Manager
b. Determines work methods from several existing alternative methods according to established policies and professional standards. Completed work is subject to subsequent review.
c. Accountable for providing sound guidance on establishing and implementing contracting activities aligned with policies, procedures, and legal requirements

MAIN CONTACTS
a. Has daily contact with employees of the same division up to Delivery Manager
b. Has regular contact with employees of other divisions i.e. Supply Chain, Finance, Tax, Legal
c. Has regular contact with other departments to support project contracts function

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
a. Education & Training: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or business related field
b. Experience (General & Specialized): Ten (10) years’ experience in Major Capital Project contracting, including three (3) years in a similar position
c. Language: Excellent written and verbal English skills, Russian language skills a plus
