The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
On offer is a 9 month contract for a Contracts Advisor for Barrow Island (20/10). In this position you key responsibilities include:

• Responsible for day to day contract administration of the construction contracts on BWI.
• Ensure Contract value/variations are within the approved Not to Exceed (NTE) value.
• Ensure accurate and current data uploaded into the Contracts Management System (CMS) to maintain quality and integrity of CMS data.
• Review and approve Recommendation for Change (RFC) and Change Order (CO) documents.
• Ensure insurance coverage and financial instruments are in accordance with Contract requirements.
• Ensure correspondence is properly managed.
• Perform commercial evaluations.
• Prepare reports as required.
• Stay current will all departmental training programs.
• Ensure reconciliation of Change Management Issues (CMI’s), RFC’s, CO’s, Allowance and Project Deviation Notices (PDN’s).
• Provide up to date Contract commercial status.
• Review and approve Contract Progress Payment Application (PPA).
• Review and approve Progress Payment certification (PPC) in accordance with the PPA.
• Ensure all payment verification documents are uploaded in CMS.
• Closeout of contracts in accordance with Project procedures.
• Understand and actively support the Project Incident and Injury Free (IIF) Program.
• Adherence to Project Confidentiality and Business Conduct requirements.
• Understand and maintain compliance with all assurance requirements.

15% Claims management
• Participate and contribute to claims avoidance strategies.
• Provide assistance, when required, to projects legal with respect to claims support.
• Provide support to site based team in relation to commercial and contractual policies and procedures.
• Ensure that claims management procedures are being adhered to and adopted to meet business objectives. e.g clean sweep philosophy.
• Ensure COR backlog reviews are being undertaken as part of close out strategies.
• Ensure that the CMI issues log is being maintained in CMS capturing CMI’s identified as potential or actual claims
• Ensure that reviews of Contract packages to identify potential claims are being undertaken on a regular basis. Participate and contribute to these reviews.
• Ensure that claims are being escalated to the claims resolution team in a timely manner where appropriate.
• Communicating the claims status to IC Leadership as requested.

5% Support Leadership Team, as required
Activities may include:
• Preparing reports as required.
• Problem solving and analysis.
• Presentations to Project Leadership as required.
• Development of options for business services team as requested.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
To be considered for this opportunity you will need to have the following:
• Thorough knowledge of contracting best practices, applicable West Australian Law and experience in managing contract change request.
• High School Graduate with 5-8 Years of Directly related experience. BS, MBA in Engineering or Commercial Management Field Preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic document management systems.
• Familiarity with electronic contract management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft suite of office products or equivalent (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to gain rapid familiarity with commercial policies and procedures and help define project specific procedure.
• Excellent communicator and a team player in order to facilitate between different business functions in varying locations
