The Role:
General Accountabilities:
• Structure and manage contracts and purchase orders in a proactive manner with the objective of minimizing costs, claims and disputes, while maintaining a healthy and positive relationship with vendors and contractors.
• Advise and support Project Directors, Managers and Engineers on the fundamental principles,
governance, processes and procedures to be adopted in developing and implementing contracting and procurement strategies.
• Support project teams in the resolution of commercial and contractual issues with contractors, including terms and conditions of contracts in collaboration with Legal, Risk and Insurance specialists.
• Maintain a close working relationship with Finance Department to ensure that contract strategies and documentation are in compliance with financial governance requirements.
• Identify, develop and implement commercial value improvement opportunities.
• Implement supply chain improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with CP processes, procedures and business controls.

Specific Accountabilities:
• Maintain contract records in Contract Management System and SAP.
• Manage Changes to Contracts and Purchase Orders
• Administer Site Contracts for Shell Albian Sands –Tailings and Infrastructure Projects including engagement with Project Managers (Clients) to support establishment, development and implementation of Contracting strategies
• Establish effective channels of communication with clients and provide timely and effective feedback on status of requisitions/orders
• Participate in cross-functional team activities to develop and implement Contracting & Procurement (CP) strategies that meet both client’s and corporate goals
• Apply Contracting strategies that will provide best value for Shell’s business and its partners’
• Provide commercial expertise and guidance to clients
• Provide coordination with Legal in claim / dispute resolution issues where required
• Ensure all activities are in strict compliance with Corporate CP Policy, Practices and Procedures and consistent with established code of ethics and business principles
• Identify improvements and cost saving opportunities
• Support Post Contract Award - Support Contract Holder in the management of the Contract, advise on contractual issues and provide analysis and recommendations on performance measures, variations, claims and disputes.

Provide Contracting and Procurement support to the Tailings and Infrastructure Projects Team from Execute Phase through Commissioning/Start-up/Operation.

The scope of this position includes primarily services, blanket order management, and post-award vendor management. It is possible that it will include material contracting including sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, contract development

Facilitate and drive post award contract management activities for assigned strategic contracts to create value and drive improved performance.

Execute activities to support Contract Management interfaces associated with Contract Holder, Contract Management System, Contractor Safety Management, Contractor relationship management through the use of Business Performance Reviews.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 years direct contract admin, Owner Preferred, On site preferred
• IT skills: SAP experience is preferred but not necessary, Shell will train.
• Proven contracting and procurement experience is essential.
•Able to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge, capability and competence in the following commercial, technical and interpersonal aspects:
•Application of contracting and procurement processes and tools.
•Forms of Contracts and their application.
• Commercial acumen / awareness.
Managing internal and external stakeholders.
Effective communications at all levels of management both internally and externally.
• Creative thinker capable of developing innovative solutions and a motivated self-starter with a track record of delivering projects
•Experience working in frontier/remote project environments.
•Business/Technical Degree and/or equivalent (PMAC Certification).
SAP or similar experience is preferred
•Strong communication
