The Role:
Purpose: Assist and take on responsibilities for all Shipyard related contractual and commercial activities from prequalification to execution

Main Accountabilities:
The current vacancy for Contracts Engineer/ Administrator is to assist the Contracts Specialist in two core activities:
1) Assisting with the completion of the execution and administration of the EPC Contract for the new build FPSO Unit in China (currently in commissioning stage)
2) Assisting in finalisation, coordination, and closure of the tendering process for the European Holding Location Contract for the FPSO unit and thereafter moving to site to assist in the administration of the Contract until completion (C. 45 Days site period planned).

Further accountabilities are:
Assist in managing the detail of the tendering exercise for the Holding location contract to contract award including mounting challenge to the current strategy to ensure best value for Client and assisting in finalising the Contract and Commercial format and closing down the tender to a Contract position.
Produce technical and commercial evaluations, clarifications and recommendation to award papers,
Provide advice and guide leaders within the Project Management Team on all matters relating to contracting strategy, sourcing, tender evaluation, award recommendation, negotiation, commitment and contractor management,
Be involved and contribute to contract negotiations in line with Company strategy,
Assist in resolving complex contractual and commercial disputes,
Contract drafting and administration,
Extensive negotiations with contractors,
Ability to take lead in meetings with contractors at senior management level, present and negotiate professional opinions in contract and other commercial areas, including all aspects of liabilities, indemnities and insurances and other contractual qualifications,
Proactive management of ongoing subsea contracts,
Manage, review and draw up positions on contract Variations and Amendments,
Assist other project personnel with project contractual issues as required,
Build a fully auditable and traceable commercial record to support the Contracts and Project decisions and integrity.
Be knowledgeable, responsible and accountable and maintain a team-orientated approach to the project whilst complying with all company policies,
Ensure compliance with all relevant procedures and appropriate legislation whilst optimising the company’s commercial position and ensuring the application of necessary contractual safeguards.

Main Interfaces:
INTERNAL
(direct and functional reporting relationships, interaction within and between departments and units)
Extensive interaction with Subsea Delivery Manager
Daly interface with project team including engineers, cost and planning.
Regular interface with other departments within WIDP
Regular interface and liaison with corporate legal department
Regular interface with corporate PSCM department

EXTERNAL
(liaison requirements with other companies, contractors, suppliers, consultants, agencies, professional association, peer groups, ….)
Communication with Shipyards.
Attendance in meetings with Shipyards.

Working Conditions:
Office
Occasional business trip to China may be required.
Site trips to European Yards
Site based (Europe) for the Holding Location duration (est 45 days)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications & Experience:
Oil and Gas industry experience with a significant proportion of this time involved in Shipyard type contracts as a Contracts Engineer/ Administrator.
Experience of administering high capital value contracts in European Shipyards is preferred.
Experience in Variation review and Invoice review and negotiation (from a QS perspective) is required.
Degree qualified in Law or Business or equivalent QS qualifications/ expereince, with an expert level understanding of contract and procurement tools, techniques and processes and regulatory requirements,
FPSO Experience preferred.
