The Company:
My client, a leading oil services company with operations worldwide is looking to recruit a Contracts Engineer

The Role:
You will participate in the co-ordination of all aspects of project contracting and procurement activity, including: contract and procurement strategy development, tendering, bid evaluation, award and contract administration.

Start date - ASAP, for a duration of 12-months (renewable)

Key Accountabilities

You will:

Participate in the establishment of the contracting and procurement processes of the Project, including commercial risk evaluation where required.
Assist in the preparation of project contracting and procurement strategies.
Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSSE performance in support of the Project Manager’s accountabilities,
Compile and assist in the management of ITT packages.
Assist in the management of the tendering process, including evaluation processes.
Review and finalise contracting documents for the project in co-operation with Asset Legal department.
Assist in the negotiation of major contracting packages, in particular in an EPIC environment.
Market input for critical services and materials, such as vessels, and long lead, critical materials.
Prepare all documentation and processes to allow contract award, in particular, for EPIC contracts, where corporate and Partner approval is required.
Interface with Partners on any contracting or procurement issues.
Interface with Asset and BG Group Contracting & Procurement groups.
Monitor and report on contractors contracting and procurement activities.

Ensure that safety of both staff and contractors employed, with particular attention to contractor HSSE, as well as QA/QC, environmental and community relations aspects are included in the contractual requirements.

Manage contract audits.
Manage the Variation Order process.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge
Typically degree qualified or equivalent
Good working knowledge of SAP.
Knowledge of sourcing goods and services in the North Sea area.
Good working knowledge of First Point Assessment Ltd (FPAL).
Requires excellent knowledge of contract law.
Working knowledge and understanding of UK / Aberdeen contractor, supplier base capabilities, and effective commercial terms for contracting in local markets.

Skills
Able to respond internally and externally to client needs in accordance with policies and practices.
Able to lead negotiations with external parties.
Good drafting and analytical skills. Must be able to develop ITT and evaluation documentation and capable of performing the initial evaluation of tender proposals.

Experience
Requires a proven track record of delivery; will be acknowledged as having developed and managed a range of successful contracts and contributed to customers’ success.
