The Role:
A Contracts Engineer (“CE”) works 12 hours/day, everyday, for either a 21 or 28 day rotation (with an equal amount of time off that is covered by the CE’s alternate/back-to-back). CEs report to the Contracts Superintendent and are responsible for supporting the service contracting requirements of the In Salah Gas and In Amenas developments (the Joint Ventures).

Ensures that all contracting activities are carried
out in accordance with the Joint Ventures’ procurement policies and procedures, policies on business conduct and health safety and the
environment (“HSE”) policies.

Works to ensure best value for the Joint Ventures’ in all areas where Supply Chain Management has an opportunity to influence.

• Works closely with line personnel to ensure that best contracting practices are adhered to.

•Reinforces the importance of HSE and strives to ensure the delivery of exceptional safety performance.

•Ensures that all personal activity is performed safely and seeks to influence others similarly.

•Ensures contracts include appropriate Contractor Performance Management provisions and manages contractor performance in accordance with such provisions.

•Develops, maintains and fosters effective business relationships with customer departments, contractors and, where appropriate, other operators and third parties.

•Provides coaching to both national CEs and line personnel in procurement process and procedure, in the application of contractual terms and in contractor performance management.

•Seeks to improve the performance of Supply Chain Management Department in general and the Contracts Team in particular.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree level qualification
• Fluent in English (both spoken and written).
• 5-10 years of experience in the contracting/procurement
process and contract drafting
• Strongly self-motivated
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
• Logical & analytical person who enjoys, and rises, to new mental challenges.
• Confident decision maker who is able to plan & implement workload, with minimal supervision, under pressure, to meet deadlines.
• Highly computer literate (in MS Word and Outlook) and
conversant with the use of Excel & PowerPoint applications.
• Quick learner
• Meticulous and thorough in their work.
• Leads by example - particularly in terms of work habits, HSE & ethics.
• Ability to work well with your alternate/back-to-back (and
Colleagues) to get the job done in as seamless a fashion as
possible.
• Capable of developing & implementing strategies & procedures

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Worked or lived abroad.
• Fluent/ Competent in French (both spoken and written).
• Fluent/ Competent in Arabic (both spoken and written).
