The Role:
•Provide contracting services while complying with established Contracts & Procurement Procedures and Processes
•Develop tender strategy and evaluation plans including submissions to Partners for approval
•Lead Tender team functions to prepare issue and administer Invitation to Tender” (ITT) packages.
•Draft, compile & review commercial section of the ITT package based on input from project engineering personnel.
•Co-ordinate the Scope of Work into the tender package ensuring clarity
•Draft appropriate commercial Terms & Conditions of Contract and develop tender evaluation cost models
•Ensure all contracting activities comply with Audit requirements and compliance with UK/EU legislation to minimise any potential external Audit, Partner claims or court actions
•Review and consider Legal aspects including insurance and indemnity terms and liaise with Legal Advisor providing advice as appropriate.
•Accept sealed bid tenders, commercially evaluate, conduct negotiations and prepare recommendations for award to secure the most realistic and commercially attractive proposals from Contractors & Suppliers.
•Prepare final contract for award and execution
•Debrief unsuccessful bidders if requested
•Manage and monitor Contact including review meetings, supplier relationship management, disputes, claims and commercial management of the contact and financial
•Uphold the highest standards of ethics in compliance with Company code of conduct and Business Ethics Policy.
•Actively build and maintain relationships with Contractors and Suppliers to secure constructive cost effective commercial arrangements for the project.
•Perform annual Performance reviews on Contractors
•Provide general advice on contracting & procurement matters to support project or operations
•Promote the Contracts process as a support function to engineering departments
•Provide ad hoc support to other user functions

•This role requires an energetic person with natural communications skills.
•Position is seen as one which can cover many areas of work through Project Development, Construction into Operations, and IRM work.
•The individual will have strong contracts and commercial skills; understand cost processes, management of change and risk management.
•Individual may also be required to support other Company projects or business units worldwide in the provision of knowledge and advice.
•Represent Contracts & Procurement function at external and internal meetings with contractors/suppliers and peer groups.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Educated to HNC/Degree/ Chartered level in an appropriate discipline.
•Ideally with a post graduate qualification in a complementary professional body such as MRICS or MCIPS
•Knowledge and practical experience in a Contracts & Procurement role including pre-qualification, tender process, negotiation of complex technical contracts, commercial evaluation and award, Contract management, claims and closeout.
•Detailed knowledge of Subsea Engineering workscopes and processes
•In-depth understanding of Contractor remuneration & their commercial implications
•Ability to draft appropriate contract clauses and terms
•Extensive knowledge and understanding of model contract conditions with particular emphasis on liability, indemnity and insurance regimes related to the subsea sector
