The Company:
Our client is one of the world's largest integrated energy companies conducting business in countries all around the globe. They are engaged in every aspect of the crude oil and natural gas industry, including exploration and production, manufacturing, marketing and transportation, chemicals manufacturing and sales, geothermal, power generation, renewables and advanced technologies.

The Role:
The individual will report to Contracting and Procurement line to Draugen Surface CP Lead. The organisation is a Draugen Surface PM and Discipline organization, covering a portfolio of projects in various phases of development from concept select until execution with a Draugen Project Manager.
A Procon Contract Management System is currently being used.
The Draugen Surface Procurement activities are mainly executed by the EPCM Contractor and some Contracts are managed directly by the client.
The Contracts Engineer shall provide guidance to the EPCM Contractor to provide contracting and procurement (CP) services for the pre and post award stages of the CP process throughout the define and execute phases of the projects.
The Contract Engineer will also be required to carry out pre and post contract award process directly, including developing strategies, executing the full tendering process, awarding contracts and managing post award work.
The accountabilities include screening and prequalification of Contractors, obtaining required management approvals at various stages and preparation of project decision support documentation.

Experience and Background:
We are looking for a candidate in early/mid career, that has around 5-10 years contracting experience in management of high value oil and gas project contracts.
This candidate should also be willing/flexible and ambitious to grow further within CP in the Oil and Gas Projects Arena.
Assisting the CP Lead in providing best of class CP services to the projects and ensuring maximum added value during implementation in compliance with the client's standards and policies.
Supporting the delivery of projects with respect to tight schedule and cost in a challenging environment & a supplier dominant market.
Managing internal and external interfaces including JV partners, suppliers and government bodies.
Good understanding of the local market and local content development in contracts
The candidate should have commercial acumen, good IT Skills, promoting the use of Contract Management Systems (Procon) , mixed with a level of understanding of the oil and gas projects business and should be capable of working independently. Flexibility and Ability to deliver under pressure is essential.
