The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.
In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in Execution Stage.

The Role:
Our Client is looking for a Contracts Engineer to join the project oversight team on-site in Darwin. The role will be to review and monitor the Contractor’s subcontract packages.

Your duties will include but not limited to:

• Oversee and review Contractor’s work relevant to the prequalification, preparation, issue, receipt, opening and assessment of tenders and award of purchase orders for materials and equipment for the Onshore Facilities.
• Ensure the Contractor implements the approved contracting strategy.
• Oversee and review Contractor’s compilation, sourcing, pre-tenders, Invitations to Tender, tender openings, and evaluations of proposals received including all requests for qualifications for major contracts.
• Ensure that contract processes are being carried out in the most efficient and cost effective manner utilizing the companies approved procedures.
• Preparation of documents for presentation to Contracts Committee and various JV approval committees (if required.)
• Participate in Contract audits, reviewing records for accuracy and conformance to standards.
• Prepare and undertake Contract award approvals in accordance with the Contracting Procedures.
• Ensure Australian Industry Participation objectives are being considered and implemented in all contracting and procurement activities (work closely with Perth Supply Diversity Advisor).
• Review Contractor ITT, clarification and RFA documentation for issues.
• Advise Contractor of Company’s position with regard to subcontractor’s qualifications and exceptions during ITT evaluation.
• Ensure commercial and contractual correspondence with Contractor is efficiently handled.
• Coordinate on contractual, commercial, taxation, insurance and legal issues with relevant internal stakeholders.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
In order to fulfil the role you must hold at least a bachelor of science in civil engineering and have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following:

• 7 years of experience in major capital projects development in the upstream Oil & Gas industry
• Contract Formation (Strategy, Tendering, Formation, Negotiations, and Award)
• Contract Administration
• Cost Engineering
• Change Order Management
