The Role:
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Preparation, negotiation, award and monitoring the administration of HR/IS and Research contracts for services in such a manner as to ensure the Company’s best commercial and contractual interests are both served and protected
• Providing a cost-effective and efficient contracts service to internal clients
• Identifying opportunities to enhance the supply chain

MAIN ACTIVITIES:
• Promote the Contracts function as being a managed process which requires timely input from HR/IS and Research departments
• SAP Administration of allocated contracts portfolio
• Administration of allocated contracts portfolio in the contract management system (Contiki)
• Interface with technical counterpart, and establish communication
• Establish contracting policy together with ‘Duet’ counterpart to find synergies and/or reduce exposure of Company
• Review and consider the legal aspects associated with contracts, liaising with the Legal Department, and providing advice to internal clients as appropriate
• Propose, pre-qualify and recommend suitable contractors/suppliers for bid lists to maximise tendering efficiency
• integrate the technical part of the ITT package received from Technician with relevant commercial documentation
• Compile and issue tender packages to procure the most realistic and commercially attractive proposals from potential contractors/suppliers
• Manage the tender request and clarification process
• Evaluate contractors’ tender submissions
• Prepare and present internal recommendations to award
• Negotiate, prepare and issue final contracts in a timely manner
• Proactively manage specific internal customer group(s) in terms of contract planning and management
• Proactively build and maintain relationships with clients, through the establishment of a highly visible presence within client locations, in order to establish and maintain a highly effective service

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Law or Engineering Practical experience in preparation and negotiation of corporate support contracts
• Experience of contract administration in SAP
• Experience of contract administration using a contract management package
• Experience in the offshore oil or petrochemical industries preferred.
• Experience of negotiating indemnity, insurance and liability provisions.
• Basic understanding of the technical area in which the ‘Duet’ technical counterpart operates
• Willingness to share expertise and transfer knowledge to ‘Duet’ technical counterpart
• Knowledge and understanding of commercial, insurance and legal issues affecting the Company / technical area
• General understanding of Company’s business functions
