The Company:
Our client is one of the world's largest integrated energy companies conducting business in countries all around the globe. They are engaged in every aspect of the crude oil and natural gas industry, including exploration and production, manufacturing, marketing and transportation, chemicals manufacturing and sales, geothermal, power generation, renewables and advanced technologies.

The Role:
Contracting Engineer (2x) to support client activities:
1.Operations, Security and Logistics Services
location: Dubai
2.Facilities Construction Contracts (e.g. Brownfield, Infrastructure, Civils)
location: Sharjah

Structure and manage contracts in a proactive manner with the objective of minimising claims and disputes.

• Advise and support Contract Holders on the fundamental principles, processes and procedures to be adopted in developing and implementing contracting strategies.

• Ensure the development and consistent application of prequalification processes, procedures, tendering, bid clarification, evaluation and recommendation for contract award processes and procedures that are in compliance with C&P Manual and the Group Business Principles.

• Support project teams in the negotiation with contractors to achieve the mandated project objectives.

• Ensure that the approved HSE standards and Goal Zero policies are fully incorporated in the process of contractor and supplier selection and in the subsequent work execution phases.

• Conduct reviews and audits of project contracting strategies, plans, and contract management processes and procedures to be applied to individual projects.

• Support Contract Holder teams in the resolution of commercial and contractual issues with contractors including terms and conditions of contract in collaboration with legal, risk and insurance specialists.

• Maintain a close working relationship with Finance and Legal Departments to ensure that contract strategies and documentation are in compliance with financial governance requirements and standard T&Cs.

• Recognise the different cultural and diverse characteristics that influence the contracting environment, including local content development.

• Ensure that SAP RtP requirements re vendor and contract data are met. Provide support to ensure that invoices are paid on time.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
An experienced professional, familiar with contracting roles in Oil and Gas Company or Service company. Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural / diverse environment. Ability to demonstrate knowledge, capability and competence in the following commercial, technical and interpersonal aspects:

•Application of contracting and procurement processes and tools.
•Development of contracting strategies
•Analysis and negotiating skills
•Forms of Contracts and their application
•Commercial acumen / awareness
•Managing internal and external stakeholders
•Effective communications at all levels of management both internally and externally
•Comprehensive understanding of CP in a major project context
•Detailed knowledge of project drivers in define through execute phases.
•Creative thinker capable of developing innovative solutions and a motivated self-starter with a track record of delivery
