Our Client, an Iron Ore Joint Venture, is a partnership between global business leaders; working with a major Iron Ore Operator on its multi-billion dollar growth plans in Western Australia.
This role is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the home office contracts team assigned to the project. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with established procedures relating to tendering, evaluation, award of contracts and contract administration, including claims negotiation. This role is also responsible for overseeing the post award contract administration activities performed by the site contracts team under the direction of the site Construction Manager.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Provide Contracts Administration and Contract Management support to the project;
Prepare and issue tender and contract documentation;
Call for tenders and quotations for construction, services and consultancies;
Evaluate tender and quotation responses;
Negotiate contractual terms and agreements with the successful vendors and suppliers
Make recommendations for award of contracts;
Oversee the execution of contracts;
Administer and manage contracts in accordance with principles, practices and procedures and appropriate Australian Standards and contract law;
Provide advice to contracts and project teams concerning contractual matters including disputes;
Analyse and manage commercial risk to the project;
Assist with communication between the project and its providers in order to deliver products and services according to the project plan; and
Manage internal & external contractual stakeholder relationships and influence others to achieve outcomes.
Provide technical leadership, expertise, advice and support to the contracts and project teams in negotiating, establishing and administrating contracts in order to offer support to each other;
Ensure continuous improvement of contract management processes, policies, procedures and systems;
Regularly liaise/communicate and consult with key stakeholders and report on performance of contracts to management and client.
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
§ Tertiary qualifications in law, commerce or engineering
§ Ability to manage and lead a diverse team
§ Ability to assess project risks and understand associated contingencies
§ Ability to form & foster collaborative relationships within the business and externally
§ Understanding of and ability to follow Company & Client policies and procedures
§ Commercial acumen in the engineering & construction environment.
§ Ability to administer and manage contracts in accordance with Company principles, practices and procedures and appropriate Australian Standards and contract law
§ Ability to call for tenders and quotations for construction, services and consultancies
§ Ability to provide leadership, expertise, advice and support to the project teams in negotiating, establishing and administrating contracts
