The Company:
Our client is a large multi-national Oil and Gas Operator which explores, develops, produces and markets crude oil, gas and sulfur. They pride themselves on conducting operations in accordance with the world–class safety and environmental standards.

The Role:
Contracts Specialist reports to the Project Contracts Advisor. The role will continue to the end of the project (around 5 rotations), with potentially the opportunity to move on to another project within the company.

Duties will include:

Develop and mentor Kazakh Nationals employed as Contract Administrators and Specialists
Responsible for preparation of contracts and contracts briefs for any contracting documents produced
Considered the subject matter expert for all Esourcing events for the bid process
Ensure that bids are prepared and launched effectively and in a timely manner in the Esourcing tool for bid packages; handle coordination of clarifications and feedback pre and post bid process with contractors
Responsible for preparing prequalification questionnaires, bid packages, prequalification letters, and bid letters; coordinate final evaluations for packages
Ensure that Instructions to Contractors (ITC) requests are properly prepared, completed, and coordinated with contractors and construction representatives to ensure Company and contract compliance
Monitor all PVNs and Reconciliations from Engineering Team (PVNs handled by the Engineering Team)
Attend Contract Bid Walk and Kickoff Meetings with Construction Team
Update and maintain individual file folders in the Contracts file
Attend all contracts meetings – department and MCP
Administer contracts ensuring Contractors comply with agreed conditions and contract procedures.
Review and negotiate Contractor Claims for extra costs associated with additional work issued to Contractors for management approval
Establish cost of additional work to be performed on unit rates for management approval.
Prepare and agree on-site measurement of work performed for Progress Reporting and verifying Payment Applications.
Act as focal point for administration of all on-site (Tengiz) construction Back Charges and Contractor Claims.
Log all Contractual and Commercial correspondence and certificates in contracts electronic files as required
Review and prepare final accounts for management approval

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree qualification or equivalent is required for this position.
Extensive experience working on major projects within the oil and gas industry.
Previous experience in Kazakhstan is preferred.
