The Company:
The Client has a unique position in the UK energy sector with 60 years of energy sector experience and in the last 10 years has built a strong business resulting in a strong presence re the UK's energy needs.

The Role:
To ensure that cost-effective and high performing contracts and agreements are delivered and managed in a professional and ethical manner. throughout the duration of Operations

•Co-ordinate activities to ensure contracts and agreements are placed in order to meet the Operational requirements and support ongoing activities.
•Ensure Company is not exposed to unnecessary contractual or commercial risk in the course of its business.
•Accountable for performing all duties with due regard to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of self, others and the environment in which they are undertaken
•Provide direction and guidance to ensure high standards in Contracts & Procurement work and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
•Ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with Company procedures (C&P procedures, HSE etc) and industry good practice.
•Provide support in developing contracting strategies and tender plans for Operations
•Supports or leads the development of prequalification’s, requests for information / quotation and bid lists
•Supports or leads the tendering, evaluation and negotiation process in relation to the award of contracts and agreements and makes recommendations to management, ensuring strict compliance with supply chain rules, procedures and industry codes of conduct.
•Drafts contracts and agreements, processes amendments and variations and ensures internal and partner approvals are obtained.
•Supports or leads quarterly reviews, FPAL assessments and performance reviews and identifies improvement plans for under-performing contracts.
•Contributes to or leads dispute negotiations.
•Ensures contractors/suppliers are managed in an integrated manner in order to achieve one team spirit and no boundaries. Identifies opportunities to develop and promote positive relationship management with contractors and suppliers, leading to a focus on creating sustainable value.
•Promotes continuous improvement in all aspects of contracts management
•Takes ownership for the continuous development of personal and technical expertise and knowledge.
•Ensures commercial and contractual risk is considered in all technical documentation
•To mentor, train, manage and support Contract Engineers and Student Contract Engineers in the Operations section
•Provides leadership and direction to team members and ensures the delivery of team objectives.
•Ensure a quality service is provided on all contractual and commercial agreement matters

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Preference for Degree qualified in e.g. law, business, quantity surveying or equivalent discipline.
Desirable to be Professionally qualified e.g. RICS, CIPS.
•Suitable experience of Contracting & Purchasing
•Experience of leading other contracts professionals
•Proven expertise in particular aspects of offshore operations
•Developed tender evaluation models & competent negotiator with Tenderers
•Demonstrable experience of tendering, awarding and managing Contracts
•Managed internal and Contractor relationships at a senior level.
Commercially aware with sound business acumen.
•Team player who contributes to both Contacting and Purchasing objectives and department development.
•Engages with stakeholders to facilitate process improvement
•Challenges, and acts as a problem solver by developing business solutions.
•Excellent communication / listening skills and proactive to address business issues
•Ability to work in a focused team and at a corporate level.
