The Company:
Our Client is the largest LNG producing company in the world, with an annual LNG production capacity of 42 million tonnes per annum (MTA), safely and reliably delivering LNG to customers around the globe from world-class facilities in Qatar.

The Role:
a. Reports Senior Project Engineer and indirectly to Project Manager
b. Studies engineering drawings and visits sites to become familiarized with work requirements and the general layout of the facilities, especially DCS and PLC systems, ESD systems and F&G systems and their computers, process instrumentation in plant and field and plant analysers.
c. Ensures that all instrumentation and control systems drawings, standards, specifications, manuals and data books are kept up-to-date and “as-built”, and directs draftsmen and secretaries to carry out all corrections to reflect any alterations, modifications and additions to instrument and control systems.
d. Acts as the focal point for instrumentation & control engineering matters. Provides expert technical advice to management and other departments/divisions as required. Also troubleshoots complex or recurring electrical problems and recommends sound and cost effective solutions as the problems arise.
e. Ensures that all I&C drawings, standards, specifications, manual and data books are up-to-date and “as-built”, and directs draftsmen and technical assistants to carry out all corrections to reflect any alterations, modifications and additions to equipment and systems.
f. Carries out multi-faced duties related to instrument & control modifications, improvements and alterations to be executed by the WRR Project.
g. Carries out assigned duties related to major modifications and improvements to be executed by outside contractors. Includes participating in technical bid analyses, reviewing design drawings submitted by contractors and proposing amendments as necessary, specifying materials and equipment to be used, and supervising the execution of work to ensure compliance with drawings and Company specifications and standards. Attends meetings with contractors as necessary.
h. Stays abreast of state-of-the-art developments in the electrical engineering discipline, and provides regular information to supervisor regarding new techniques, equipment and materials which may benefit the Company and its operations.
i. Responsible for the support of Company Safety, environment and Quality policies and programs, and carrying out specific duties and responsibilities related to his job as spelled out in Management system documentation, policies, procedures, local documentation, Management System Manual, Safety Manual and other related documents.
j. Carries out other similar or related duties as per the direction from the Manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
a. Minimum 6 years’ experience in instrumentation and control system design and operations with at least 3 years in the petroleum or similar industry with involvement in project design, procure, construct, and start-up for major process facilities.
b. Background in engineering, procurement and construction of onshore hydrocarbon processing facilities.
c. Recent experience working directly with engineering contractors, preferably related to execution of EPC-type, lump sum contracts
d. Experience with contractors and worldwide suppliers, in particular those involves in the construction of major onshore facilities.
e. Specific and detailed application experience with the configuration and operation of Instrumentation & Control Systems
f. Familiar with applicable international codes and standards.
