The Role:
Residential Position

The Control Engineer is responsible for providing control systems engineering and technical support for the LNG and Domgas plant/ facility including mechanical completion confirmation, precommissioning/ commissioning, start-up and operation activities. As a part of the ALNG technical team providing assistance to the commissioning and start-up team the Control Engineer will optimize the facility within the framework and concepts of Every Person Safe Every Day Operations

Role and Responsibilities
 Participate in the mechanical completion efforts to provide assurance that the control systems/instruments are installed and working as designed.
 Assist Commissioning & Start-up Team(s) with mechanical tests, capacity tests, acceptance tests completion & successful facility performance tests.
 Responsible for developing/maintaining DCS profiles and programs. Works directly with DCS operators to ensure optimal use of DCS system and information. Monitor technology changes and updates of equipment in instrumentation field.
Work closely with operations and maintenance personnel to ensure plant instrumentation systems are modernized as such programs can be justified on a cost effective basis. In cooperation with process engineering and operations, work towards the optimization of plant operations, maximizing plant product production (LNG, LPGs, Condensate, Domestic Gas)
from available plant feed stock at minimum expenditure of plant resources (equipment, manpower, capital).
 Develop/utilize monitoring program for plant control, instrumentation and safety systems to ensure equipment is performing as designed.
 Support development and implementation of Advanced Process Control strategies towards the optimization of process control and efficiency gains.
 Mentor national controls systems engineering staff and ensure that they are adequately trained to assume a lead instrument engineer position within a specified timeframe.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
5-10 years – engineering.

 Ten years experience in specific Controls/InstrumentationEngineering Tasks: experience developing controls/instrumentation systems for LNG/natural gas processing or similar facilities. Direct experience in pre-start-up activities and ability to quickly troubleshoot systems. Can work directly with operations team to optimize facility for high efficiency and on stream time. Candidate is familiar with cryogenic natural gas
processing and the specific problems in controls and instrumentation of such processing systems.
 Hands-on experience on DCS and Safety Instrumented systems including qualifications on Functional Safety is desirable
